@Kimberly
Thanks for sharing your opinion with me. It's understandable that he is impatient, finally being able to meet his love again. It explains his behavior, but it doesn't justify it. Being pushy out of love is still selfish if the other person doesn't like it and at least for me, it affects the whole journey of them becoming a couple. His behavior wouldn't even be that salient if he was shown like a normal person. However, he has the aura of an angel, like he's sent from heaven only to protect Ruge. He is received by the emperor almost as if he's a saint. The combination with these characteristics suggests that his behavior is somehow endorsed by the series. Maybe that's the crucial point.
It's good for her that with Yinxue, she has someone by her side who will always protect her. But the love story from a holistic point of view is not convincing.

That he seems to be "just a cold" character is the disappointing thing, because then he's rather a flat character.

@Alila Nguyen
According to my understanding, Zhanfeng is - next to Ruge, Yinxue and Yuzihan - a main character. I think they could have cut other rather unnecessary scenes and focused on the main story instead. In my view, it's not only about Anyeluo who is generally good at manipulating but it's also about Zhanfeng's reaction to this manipulation.

Well, his behavior towards the female lead didn't really change since that kiss, did it? When Ruge is looking for him and enters his dreams, it seems that he is finally able to let her go if she's happy without him, but that's in the very last episode when Ruge shows that she loves him.

I see your point (although I never saw it as a decision already made - when Yinxue says that they are newly-weds, Ruge merely accepts this as a fact because she trusts him and cannot remember). In any case, whether it's a decision to marry him or a decision to perform the procedure (which is of no less importance), it's her own decision. The memory loss clearly affected her decision-making. If she sees it as more important or more proper to dedicate herself to Jianghu/Liehuoshan, then it should be respected, even if it means that she puts herself in danger. It's true that she could already have feelings for him. But I didn't want to emphasize her feelings but rather her own will.

Your review shows you kinda don’t get the story. For one, the kiss on the cheek was the past RG, not the current…
Thanks for your comment. Let me clarify some things.

I'm perfectly aware that the girl in that scene is Yinxue's former love so of course it's more accurate to say "past Ruge". Yet, it all boils down to one person and in the context of describing Yinxue's behavior towards the female lead, such a distinction doesn't really matter.

I didn't say that he forced her, I'm only saying that his helping behavior (i.e. helping her recover) also has the side that he kind of gains something from it. Ruge clearly wasn't in her right mind, and you cannot expect from a person to make a such rather big decision in such a mental state. When she regained her memory, she stopped the marriage procedure, despite Yinxue's situation.

I do understand the reasoning how Zhanfeng's behavior is explained in the series (believing your own blood, not becoming the leader of Liehuoshan, the parents committing suicide when they just got a child). But that's not my point. My point is, that this reasoning is too rudimentary. I expect more of a main character, more diffentiatedness, that's what I meant with 'not fleshed out'. It takes Zhanfeng two years (while living in the same place) to actually confront Liemingjing. Until then, everything is built upon presumptions and he acts like a sulky child who rather trusts people pretending to be family members he probably never even heard of before.
