He has always loved her, but her lies caused him to deceive himself into denying that love. He thought she was using him as much as he was using her. He believed they were in a beneficial "partnership." Now, he sees his marriage differently, and he realizes that he has always loved her. He remembers all the love she gave him and his family. That's why he said he never intended to let her go from the start. However, this was his own twisted thinking. Now, things are really different. He sees how strong she was before they met and after they broke up. He sees her true worth as a person, not as a tool to be used and rewarded for the benefits received from their relationship.
Sigh! My soul is so hurt right now. When the sister said that FL needs to let him go, I knew you were all right. I read all the comments here before watching, but I took a leap of faith, and I don't regret it! The director, writer, and ML and FL couple are at fault here. Something must have happened for the series to end like this. 9/10. It's just the ending that was rushed and came out of thin air. There was no development at all. Killing someone off-screen is the worst thing that could happen to fans. I'll say that only the last hour of the show was pure nonsense. It was nonsense from those members of the production team.
