He did so to cover for someone hence him being imprisoned wasted his life yes... but he doesn't need to be apologized at imo, im confused. He still committed to crime of misleading the authorities and letting a murderer go free. That would still cost him few years of prison though not 8. If his character is meant to evoke pity in the viewers' hearts, I didn't feel any.

Being a loser in the present-time, getting a second chance to fix it by time travelling to youth.... that's a tried, trusted and much beloved premise. However this is the WORST rendition I've seen of it. . Within the very few minutes there was a queer background character who was only there for a "weird, comical character for others to scoff upon" purpose. Red flag number one. Then the male lead forcefully kissed a girl. There was a very threadbare excuse for it, and I would've looked past it if the ML properly apologised and repented later. He didn't. He instead kept pursuing the girl to her distress, and the story treated this all as comedy. It wasn't. Worse, the girl actually came to like him. . Then, the FL was almost assaulted at several instances so the ML can play "rescuing the damsel in distress" with romantic background music and slo-mo camera. . So you see, I couldn't forgive it anymore. It was appalling how this movie had the balls to put all these disgusting tropes together and call it "comedy".
Yayyy! Yes, the YouTube one is complete but the opening/ending credits are removed plus few seconds from opening and end, probably to escape the copyright? It didn't affect the story imo, but good for you for finding a full version! 🥳

Really liked this because it's a cute, fun, happy and heartwarming story about a monster baby and his human parents. The couple is already established and adorable, and with the baby it makes for the perfect watch! 🥰

Yes it is an accent. I'm like you, I don't understand Chinese and cannot spot which specific accent and China has numerous distinct provincial accents. There was a scene where Uncle Zhu was saying "Speak Mandarin, I don't understand you." as well.
