basically SML loved FL first and tried several times to court her ..FL accepted him but he had to get the acceptance of his family..his mom did a bad thing and pretended to go to FL family for hand in marriage but instead she made them sworn siblings.. second time he negotiated with his family it was if he pass the exam but he didn't ..he promised FL hell try again and to wait for him ML at the time proposed to help him get her but he refused .. SML is has no power and is controlled by his family who set him up to marry a princess and he did but she died ..he went back to FL..but she refused to see him to fully reject him once and for all and to get on with his life.. SMl parents set him up again now with his wife..he accepted but distanced himself from her .. the wife investigated to know the reason and finally discovered his first love she was wary of her at first cz she heard many bad rumors of FL and maybe tried to plot against her but FL quickly cleared the air and the wife knew his first love is righteous and smart. so she befriended her a time came where FL was in a hopeless place and she had no one to rely on .. SMl parents knew he will go to her but his wife helped him by saying he's taking her out to dinner..that's the first strike of love for his wife when they got to FL place they were discussing ways to help her..the wife suggested smart moves that actually impressed SML ..he realized then he has a gem on his hands and he started loving her dearly.. I just want to say on my fifth rewatch that SML realizing he has a gem as a wife and getting over his first love is so hottt..like he almost stole the spotlight with his wife from the leads🤭 (I forgot if I commented this before like on my first watch but anyway can't help but appreciating this on every rewatch)
