Sailom liked Kang before he started the bullying that's why it seems like he falls so fast.
Actually, I think Sailom knows he is a good person? He did offer his FAVORITE umbrella to him. I'm pretty sure after his mom died, Kanghan changed but Sailom knew this wasn't him. Seeing all the bullying, Sailom rather looked disappointed than mad as to why he decided to be like this. He clearly wants to change him because he can't stand seeing a loved one like this. And remember the series started in the middle of nowhere so we don't know what happened before. Maybe Kanghan did something more other than just offering his umbrella, I also doubt someone would fall in love because a random gave you their umbrella. Let's just continue watching, enjoy the fluff before the 'dangerous' part of their romance starts.
