True, it´s their money to spend. Patronage in the arts and gift-giving as appreciation have always been a thing after all. And in some circles, expensive gifts might be normal. I just can´t help but feel that with such gifts, expectations often come along. If a man, who was a fan of my art, was to give me a BMW, I´d feel a bit... worried? But, I don´t know much about how it works in other circles and (fan-)cultures. I just thought it seemed quite ironic, what with the recent history of presents being given, expectations being had, and relationships turning sour. But different case now, so hopefully, it´ll turn out well for everyone. It´s just, the dynamic between fan and artist... It can be such a fickle thing.

I do sincerely hope they want nothing but his happiness in return. But I don't know them, so I can't tell. And it isn't exactly the same as before of course, but regardless, it still looks a bit obsessive to me. Coz it's no small trinket, it's a car! Sadly, many people have expectations attached to their favors, even if they claim not to. Let's hope for the best.
