Can you please elaborate more about YBY role in the drama? I don’t know much as there’s not much information…
Her character loves to dress up and appears confident. She’s not cheerful like Xuanji in LaR. Ling is suicidal and is mentally ill (also has trauma from her childhood and feels guilty about her mother’s death despite not killing her). I feel she’s kinda similar to Ko Moon Young from It's Okay to Not Be Okay who is domineering towards the ML (but there are also many differences between the two characters).
As someone who loves and takes ballet classes (you can learn ballet at any age regardless of gender), I’m so excited for this drama. It sounds so heartwarming. Time for me to read the manhwa before the drama airs.
Edit: I just started reading the manhwa and most of ML’s family is pissing me off so much. So much toxic masculinity just because the ML wants to do ballet.
Wow. You are already reading the novel? How do you like it? And do you know where I can find the synopsis for…
So in the novel the FL is 16 years old while the ML is supposed to be 25. I hope the drama changes it and makes the ML 18 especially since the lead actors look the same age (With YBY being one year older than ZYC). Tbh I feel uncomfortable in general seeing romance between teenagers (under 18) and people in their 20s which is why I hope the drama ages down the ML or ages up the FL (like in Love & Redemption the leads were made the same age and were aged up starting at 16 while in the novel they are two years apart and it starts them with being 11 and 13 years old). Anyway, the FL is badly treated by her family and her fiance also cheated on her. She also has a sleepwalking problem. She falls in love with the ML right away and chases after him in the first few chapters. She’s supposed to be a female version of the male domineering ceo trope. I couldn’t find a summary of the novel but I do hope the drama makes improvements on the writing. The novel is okay so far and the FL is very interesting. I’m currently on chapter 8 and the plot is picking up now (besides from the FL trying to seduce the ML). The FL also has depression and has suicidal thoughts.
I’m reading the novel and I hope the scriptwriters improve the writing in the drama since the novel just abruptly starts. The novel is by the same author of Ashes of Love btw. Anyway I hope the leads have good chemistry. I’m also glad that CY is paired with a different actress this time (it’s tiring seeing the same pairings and cast in dramas repeatedly).
Tbh I might drop watching this drama. The age difference of the characters [not of the actors] (the FL is 15 <- she’s a child while the ML is in his late 20s) makes me uncomfortable. I know it was common for young girls to marry much older men through arranged marriages back then. But if there is not too much focus on the romance I’ll watch it for the FL becoming successful.
I recommend reading the novel on Google Chrome (where it automatically translates the page into English).
