I think the role of Navier fits Shin Min-ah perfectly. I can totally imagine her playing that role—her image…
Lee Seyoung’s most well known role is Sung Deokim from The Red Sleeve, how can she grow as an actress if she doesn’t try roles outside of her image. I think it’s refreshing she’s playing as Rashta especially since her most well known role Deokim is the complete opposite of Rashta.
In my opinion lee se young would make a better navier and shin min ah would perform better in the role of rashta.…
It’s refreshing Seyoung is trying a new image as an actress by playing as Rashta. If I want to see her play as a strong female lead, I can rewatch her as Deokim in The Red Sleeve or some of her other previous roles.
Seyoung shared, “I was drawn to the character Rashta because she has a multi-layered story that allows me to express a wide range of emotions. I hope to bring the rich world that viewers loved in the original work to life in the drama as well.”
I agree with she is such a great actress but I don't why she was given that character anyway let's see whether…
To be honest, I’m glad Seyoung is playing as Rashta, since it’s unexpected she was cast as the character so I can’t imagine how she will portray the character. Seyoung did recently say she wanted to play as a villain. Plus Seyoung previously worked with the drama PD in Doctor John, so the PD knows her acting well enough to offer her to play a challenging role like Rashta.
To be honest, Lee Se Young should be casted as FL here. Two MLs are both good. The problem is the chosen FL actress.…
I think it’s better to cast unexpected actress as the characters so let Shin Minah as Navier and Seyoung as Rashta prove themselves in their roles completely different from their images. Actors should try roles different from their images and not be typecast into specific type of roles. You can criticize the cast and their acting when the drama is airing.
Seyoung, a few months ago, said she wanted to play as a villain, I’m glad her wish came true and she gets to show a very new side of her in this drama as Rashta. So Seyoung probably chose to play as Rashta because the character stood out to her and she likes the character. I personally find it refreshing Seyoung will be Rashta.
The interview (for WWD Magazine from December 2024):
WWD: Is there a role you’d like to challenge in the future? Lee Seyoung: A fascinating villain with a deep backstory.
Episode 11 and 12 won’t be airing next week and will air on January 5th and 6th instead due to MBC entertainment awards (December 29) and MBC drama awards (December 30)
People should realize actors should be allowed to take new roles outside of their image to grow as actors & stop being typecast + get better scripts.
