Yeah, I see the FL as 18/19. And the cultural differences really must be a shock for her.

ML is 20 (just turned 20). I think FL is around the same age based on her maturity. FL not being extremely booksmart like Yuan Ying makes sense since she’s not from an elite family plus she knows farming well.

I personally see the FL as smart even though she’s not considered very “booksmart”.

Rather then Yuan Ying vs Li Wei, I hope it’s Yuan Ying vs Prince Song’s official wife (that would be fun to watch).

FL of Rattan [played by Jing Tian] (2021) is domineering and looks like the female leads of the upcoming dramas Legend of Shen Li [Zhao Liying as the FL] and Legend of Anle [Dilraba as the FL] will have domineering female leads too (if the original novel characters personality are followed). Also FL from Love in Between (2020) and FL from Nirvana in Fire (2015).

After seeing the preview clips for ep 9 and 10, I really hope Li Wei is able to become the legal wife especially if the drama isn’t following the novel exactly (I heard in the novel she just stays a concubine).
