Very well written. I completely agree with you. I thought that I was the only one who loved historical romantic dramas more than the contemporary ones. What's more surprising is that the reasons that you mentioned in the article are exactly my thoughts as well. Also I would like to add that (I personally think) historical dramas are usually better written with better acting and amazing ost (in most cases). And hence the audience are able to feel and understand the romance and can relate to the main leads more than modern dramas.
