I tried to take a peek on this drama because of Li Landi and it’s 10K popularity index thingy plus to move on after ADWAD. But most acting were so so except Li Landi and as you said, predictable plot, it’s perhaps not for me. I won’t give bad rating or even rate this as I am not even interested to start watching anyway.

Oh Gosh, I am struggled to move on. I have nothing to watch after happily finishing ADWAD! Last finished The Princess’s Gambit and In the Name of Blossom, they were ok, but other currently airing drama seemed not exciting to watch. Tried to take a peek on Coroner’s Diary because of its heat index thing, but It’s just not for me. Any recommendation?

POB was great drama I loved to watch before ADWAD with slowly burnt romance and complete trust development as well, no first wedding night until ep 30s. So for me, it seemed alright. The problem why people found female was annoying character maybe because she carried loads satire/parody elements that is unusual for female lead in cdrama like this? But Li Yitong was actually did it well. Hilarious SYM 😂

Idiot perhaps is too harsh word to use :-) In UK, we’ve got to used to watch parody plays since young. ADWAD is surprisingly fab satire/parody costume drama, bit of exaggeration and some comedy should be in it and It did have them in a good proportion. It’s unique and different than palace dramas I usually like watch, It is cleverly more entertaining 😊

It may be only me? I do like SYM. Most female lead in costume drama must have been either a clever or brave heroine who would deserve to have a happy ending and true love with the best character make or the other way around. SYM may be againsts the odd and not clever or brave heroine but I wouldn’t think that she’s selfish if you could see her limitation and struggles and how she’s willing to kill her self over and over to safe people she loves for the happy ending in few last episodes. It’s clearly not an easy-solved missed understanding she had with Nan Heng who used to be cruel and want to kill her. It wouldn’t be right and she would be stupid if she trusted and fell in love to easily after all those experiences.

The original paper indeed had the iron symbol (Fe) on it. The post answered my confusion with that second paper which had magnesium and zinc (Mg +Zn)😂. I don’t understand mandarin well, so this explanation with the Chinese homophone is still brilliant nonetheless 😊

I feel the need to explain this pun though, because the subtitles don't do it justice at all!
This is a chemical formula, so the plot hints it's something to do with the forging secret. It's actually a cheesy love letter because the Chinese for Mg (magnesium) is 鎂 mei, a homophone for 美 (meaning 'beauty'), Zn (zinc) is 鋅 xin, sounds like 心 (heart). So in the formula, the Mg replaces the Zn, so hence the 'heart' has been stolen by the 'beauty'. That's also how Song Yimeng managed to work it out so quickly, even though she is not a science major. Still no clues how it got there though!! 😆

I know right ☺️ I remember how hard to find how to watch C costume drama ages ago!I have been loving C costume drama since I was young and still can’t enjoy the K drama ones like most people. Viki seems to have more K drama fans. But tbh, in England, even I’ve paid all those foreign platform , they’re still cheaper paying a Sky TV which I cancelled it a long long time ago! 😆

True, but would make me more crossed reading it! ☺️ I’ve paid several platforms like iqiyi, WeTv, Youku, Netflix and prime anyway. I just paid Viki as I needed watching ‘in the name of blossom’ but I won’t renew as they have been too mean to my girl SYM 😂

I stopped paying VIKI membership because of many rude unjustified comment about female lead in ADWAD! And tbh, I really didn’t see SYM character was annoying. No rule that requires all female lead character in drama must be clever. SYM may not be the cleverest but has her own unique qualities and her struggles. It’s understandable SYM did what she did . I wouldn’t trust anybody so easily also if I was her in the unknown world. Touch down, Li Yitong actually did the best version of Song Yimeng with her amazing acting skill, no one could have done better than her. Chemistry was superb and I’ve had a good fun watching. This will be one of the best dramas I enjoy watching for a long run.

I had to cancel the automatic skip over setting on my iQIYI to get to it. And as I mentioned in previous comment, I’ve finally decrypted THE dreams because of that ending when Nang Feng said the code ‘white head, same heart’ to Song Xiaoyu. It’s a brilliant after credit ending! ☺️

It’s kinda clever code, to decrypt the ending for me. Absolutely 😂
