Nah.i didn’t like the expressions of Wang character in 1st two eps but it got so much better now & I really…
I'm talking about the dead air in between dialogue, the actual length of scenes (running over the standard 2-3 mins), and the amount of scenes involving test taking that gets repetitive and slows down pace. I don't mind the slow burn trope, but I've noticed decisions to extend scenes in recent BLs just for the sake of making the episode longer rather than it being a creative choice or in service of the story to appease people who complain about runtimes.
Although the portrayal of Taichi's emotional depth may not be very strong, I think it's a bit much to say he isn't…
A lot of scenes could be read as both ways, one with queer subtext and the other with how much he values their friendship. The trope is friends to lovers so a lot of the scenes have duality. There is barely any overt romantic scenes barring two or three, but the subtext is why its great storytelling as it doesn't spoon feed you their romance. Its definitely a one-sided crush until it isn't, thats the story arc and I'd argue his emotional depth is strong because of how dynamic his feelings are (both love and friendship). I'm warning people who aren't into subtext, coming of age themes, and slow burns.
This is an extremely slow burn and mostly one-sided crush with a character that just happens to be gay, I feel like this story could easily be about the two men's friendship. That being said, this show is outstanding in terms of its storytelling and if it doesn't bother you that the romance is more of a subplot to the main coming of age plot then you'd like it.
This show grows on you and its adorable, cute, funny (not in a cringe or sickly sweet way). A bl with characters who actually have personalities that shine through. I'm sick of cooking shows and the obsession with watching people eating (the "oishii" face), but I'm making an exception with this show as its written into the story well.
The OST really makes me like the show 100 times more, its so catchy (like a George Michaels song somehow). I think every thing is top-notch (music, acting, cinematography) except the writing doesn't know how to start and end each episode. It's hard to tell where this series is going, hopefully it ends up going somewhere. One of the better bl series out there right now.
yes, the main dolphin in show has an ulcer on mouth and a beat up tail which is really putting me off :( not to mention the whole show is about taking care of the animals...its really hard to watch as this show has a fun atmosphere but its quite sad in reality.
