At first I wondered, "well, will there be progression for MilkLove"? Hear me out: 100%. It's a natural progression of their evolution and fits their style perfectly. I feel like they brought back what everyone liked about InkPa - older and more reserved Milk, bubbly and more straight-forward Love. And they kept the good of 23.5, the fluffy, feel-good vibe and MilkLove's talent for romantic comedy/slice of life. In an all girl cast! Also, they just looked so comfortable with each other in the pilot. 🥺 What's more, the set-up shows how deeply producers engaged with themes from the fandom. Notice that the color scheme from the pilot is completely "MilkLove", from using pink 💗 and green 💚 to the font reminding me of the "MuvMuv" merch. They even incorporated an orange cat! And let's not forget that P'Ink's name (Bad Buddy) was inspired by Ink Waruntorn (the singer), and now the pilot stars a song by Ink Waruntorn (which fits perfectly, I might have been listening to it on repeat). Okay I'm raving. 😂 But for real, I'm looking forward to this. Maewnam slowly crumbling Wan's defenses, yes please!
As I love so so many aspects of this series (the acting, production + cinematography, the OST!), I have to admit the last episodes were a bit slow moving and it feels like we keep revisiting the same lines of conflict over and over again: Ai feeling like a disappointment to her family, the complicated sisterhood of Ai and Oom, May fearing being seen as inferior by society, Ai doubting herself, May reassuring her. I begin to fear that the last episodes will be cramped with conflict and revelations. We still need room to investigate the accident, May's perpetrator, Ben, Oom waking up etc.:/
I just want to say that Mae has thoroughly impressed me. At the end of Ep3 when Khun is playing guitar and she…
I agree, that scene was amazing. The story of the series lives in Mae's expressions. There were many scenes where I thought, we wouldn't necessarily need the inner dialogue because you can just read it from her face. It's amazing! Same goes for Christine, but as the story centers on Jattawa's point of view, Mae's performance really shines as outstanding.
I kinda can't wait for the new ep and don't want it to end at the same time - such a good GL! The story, the pacing, acting (!!), music, art work, promotion (we get stuff to pass the week!), it's all there 🥺 Such a great year for GL in general but this will be among top favorites for sure!
