My comment wasn't about the show at all... It was just a general comment...
About the show, it's their history and if they feel offended we cannot do anything about it... Youth of may dealt with the same topic but didn't face any sort of backlash and had a smooth run... So it's not like Koreans have a problem with dramas being made with that particular background... There has been multiple movies dramas and music videos with this topic and if this one drama particularly rubbed them off in the wrong way they might have valid reasons for it...
Some countries are very sensitive when it comes to religion same way Koreans are very sensitive when it comes to their history...
As an Indian if someone(esp indian film makers) makes a movie which underplays British atrocities in India and portrays them as savers of humanity, i will be seriously offended but non-indian( or people who weren't colonized) will watch it just as a movie or a drama and might say we Indians are over reacting and should watch it as a fictional show... How will the Americans feel if osama bin laden is humanised and his actions are justified? Why did the davinci code offended so many people if it was just a fictional story?

i watched a drama without dropping it solely because of the comment section of mdl... lol... the drama was startup... lmao... i would have totally dropped it at ep 6-7 if it wasnt for mdl and netflix....

its not about being the good guys or being the bad guys... if a government agency has to torture or kill spies or terrorist send to their country by an enemy country nobody has the right to question them on morals and ethics... its their duty to protect their country and countrymen at any cost... their priority is the security of their country not the human rights of the spy or terrorist...

mr.queen faced a little criticism for its first episode for sexual comedy dialogues and it had nothing to do with the ML but it was quickly forgotten... it faced the heat only after it was done airing and when joseon exorcist got cancelled...

this drama is not based on a chinese novel, didnt distort history, didnt have bad acting and hope there is no chinese investment... knetz dont have any reason to get mad at...

i guess one of the main reasons i enjoy watching dramas while its ongoing than binge watching is the live discussion in MDL... there are dramas i completed solely because i was active on MDL comment section of that drama... lol

i wish indians protest like koreans and stop damaging public properties... wasnt there an indian tv show which got banned due to petitions from indians? i forgot the name of the show... it was 2-3 yrs ago i guess... i wish people protest in a similar way with serials and movies instead of burning and vandalizing...

Atleast Koreans stop at online petitions and are being extremely civilized with their protest... Indians would have burnt down public properties over issues like this... As the above commenter said, the Rajput community vandalised the set of padmavat without even having any proper historical evidence about the story to back up their claims... Some uneducated foolish politicians even made threats against Deepika Padukone as well...

Only the Rajput community had problem with the movie and they created a huge scene... Nobody else cared... That's why it's one of the highest grossing movies of all times... They had a problem with Jodha Akbar as well and it also did well in the theater... they are in general a noisy community...
It's like a noisy minority making a scene out of nothing... Also unlike sk which has more proper historical evidence India dont have any and most of the history is distorted...
1980s is not that long ago and people from that time are still alive.. if there is any distortion of that period it's hurting the sentiments of living people who went through all those that happened during that time...
If india makes a movie romanticizing British rule and their atrocities it will definitely get banned in India and even supreme court will put a ban on it as it will be an insult to the freedom struggle of millions of people... Can you imagine the backlash a movie or a drama will get if it portrayed Gen. Dyer in a good light after jallianwalla bagh massacre? The entire cast and crew of that project will have to walk with an S tier security to stay alive in india...

Mr queen had more comedy( and romance in the latter half) and less politics, 100 days my prince was more of a rom-com as well but the last 3-4 episodes had politics... I guess it's impossible to seperate politics from historical dramas esp if it happens inside the palace... 100 days is completely fictional and majority of the story happens outside the palace so it had comparitevely way less politics than other historical dramas i have seen...

It's not because of that... Mr queen got into controversy because of Chinese sponsership and the drama is based on a Chinese novel... Korea and China are having political problems... One drama called joseon exorcist got completely cancelled after 2 episodes due to this...
Mr.queen's storyline has nothing to do with it as it is one of the highest rated shows of all times...

I know the ending and the suspense of the drama due to watching clips of chanyeol 😬...

I know of memories of alhambra but i don't watch park shin Hye dramas... I am a big exo fan and chanyeol is in it as the younger brother( more like an extended cameo) and I have seen only his clips from that drama...
I have seen come back ahjussi 2-3yrs back and it was hilarious.. i don't remember much of it now but remember it was funny...

Moon chae won in foe is one of my all time fav female leads in kdrama... She was the actual badass female lead than the FLs from iotnbo and hdl... If we take away all those fashionable clothes and sassy dialogues the fls from iotnbo and hdl are not very mentally strong women and vulnerable whereas moon chae won in foe was a strong woman in true sense...

For son yejin start with the classic... It's a classic😂... I loved her in be with you and the pirates...
