The ML cared about the FL but just not the way she wanted him to care... He just comes off as a non romantice kind of guy... Not the typical kdrama ML who will do all those cute little stuff... But he clearly cared about her and him constantly calling her and being unable to completely concentrate on his work shows that esp when he is considered to be a workaholic... Also not all people get things without communication and the ML belonged to that category... Things need to be said directly to him for him to understand... I totally get the FL wanted a break up as she wanted a different kind of relationship but she has been with him for 3 yrs and by now she should have known that he don't get stuff unless it's said to him... She could have said all those things she said in the cafe at the end during the first time she decided to breakup... he would have totally understood her... He is bad at catching signals but she is equally bad at communicating with him as well... Also the PT teacher in the picture kind of looked like she broke up at that particular time simply because she thought she have another options... There shouldn't have been a 3rd person at all...

I get the reasons why the FL wanted to break up with the ML and it's totally justified but the angle of the PT teacher made it look like she kind of broke up at that time simply because she could get better options and didn't want to work on the relationship... She has been with the ML for 3 yrs and by that time she should have an idea of what kind of person he is... He is aloof and don't understand things unless it's said to him directly... Some people just don't get the hints and it should be said to them directly... If she wanted something else from the relationship she could have told it to him when she broke up with him and ended it then and there... He made it pretty obvious that he is clueless of the reason why they broke up and since she is breaking up with him she could have told him... She opened up to him at the very end and it looked like they dragged it simply because the drama has to be 1 hour... Also he don't seem to be as self centered as she and the friend made him to be... If he was that self centred he would have never tried to call her all day and went to her house... She was clearly running on his mind the entire day and he genuinely tried to talk it out with her... When she finally talked it out he understood his mistakes... So it wasn't like he is a stubborn self centered guy who don't take anyone else's perspective at all... He clearly cared about her and the relationship but not the way she wanted it to be... I feel the entire story could have been way better if the PT teacher was out of the picture and it was just about two people wanting different things in a relationship breaking up... Every relationship starts with butterflies and unicorns but after a while it will settle down...
The leads look really good together which is one of the reasons why I felt bad when they broke upand kang taeho looks really handsome in those office wears... I really like him since runon...

Mr.queen was a complete comedy drama with some romance so the happy ending was guaranteed but this is based on a real story and a novel with sad ending... I atleast hopped that they end it with them getting married and having their first child...

Its based on a novel and I read that in the novel also the king was very possessive and selfish when it came to deokim... Also we are talking about 18th century Korea which was extremely patriarchal and he is a crown prince who grew up getting everything he wants and with a sense of superiority... So it's kind of understandable if he acts like a jerk with her at times even though it's not justifiable... Also it's not like she can hold a grudge against him for threatening her especially after him begging for her life in front of the king... I think that scene was there to show the power disparity b/w the two and how much control he has over her as an authoritarian figure but still he cannot have her until she herself willingly comes to him... It's Based on a real king and he waited 15yrs of a court lady to say yes to him... Even after being the king and even after having the power and even after loosing his temper, at the end it was her decision that mattered...
