It is not supposed to be appealing it's suppose to show his obsession and possessiveness over her... He clearly isn't in love with her as of yet and he thinks of her as someone that completely belongs to him and when she opposed it he became a agressive( we are not sure if he did as they at times change the ending in the next episode)...

I was going for unhealthy relationship... I didn't watch or read any of it so I don't really know the exact content of it but I know it is considered to be showing unhealthy relationship...
