i think he is friends with the chef because the chef dont have any friends and he might not be a very judgemental person... its pretty obvious that the doctor has made his stand clear from the start... he is ready to be the chef's friend as long as the chef can handle his feelings... its like how 2nd male leads stay friends with female leads even after confessing they like the FLs... its their own choice to stay friends with the person they like... also the doctor seems to be of a particular character... he dont speak much and is very reserved... his wife seems to understand that well and thats why she didnt get bored of him... 7 yrs with someone like that is not easy esp when the sister is so outgoing and energetic type...
this is exactly how i felt about this drama... it was a mess and they had no idea where they are going... in one episode i felt like the leads won't end up together as the damages were way too high and in next they are like two bickering love birds who behave like nothing serious happened between them... there was no consistency... then to show how deep there love is, random kissing scenes are thrown in... instead of those kissinf scenes if they wrote scenes were these two actually connect i would have at least got an idea why the ML is so madly in love with the FL who isnt worth it... i never knew i will watch a jcw kissing scene without any kind of emotions... even in melting me softly that shower kiss gave me butterflies even thought the leads didnt had any sort of chemistry....
Keep watching, after sometimes JW will make the audience insane... Lmao...

JW literally had no self-respect and EO was shown to be way too self absorbed and selfish... the real queen's soul was inside the body itself... after the queen woke up from the vegetative state the souls of the real queen and BH got merged... thats why after waking up BH had all the memories of the real queen and started getting attracted to the king all of a sudden... its also why the queen didnt feel out of place when BH went back in the last episode... she was fully aware of whats going on...
i just finished the tale of noku and realized how grand mr.queen was... it made other sageuks look very average...…
empress ki is really good... the characters are complex and almost everyone is grey shaded... it more serious and intense than mr.queen... mr.queen is more of a comedy drama and empress ki is like a proper historical drama with way too many deaths and tragedy...
