the king was in love with sobong and not BH and sobong is the merged soul of the real queen and BH.. not just BH... also the king always had feelings for the real queen from the start... thats why he wanted to find reasons not to kill the queen and also wanted to have a normal husband-wife relationship with the queen after finding she is innocent...
there is no indication that jang bonghwan without the soul merge with the real queen had any kind of romantic feelings towards the king... even when he went back to the present he was happy that the king survived but wasnt sad that he got his life back... he wanted to go back to his life... he was only proud of what he and the king did against corruption and injustice...

i just finished the tale of noku and realized how grand mr.queen was... it made other sageuks look very average... the wardrobe of everyone, the cinematography, the sets everything looks so lavish and grand...

recently i decided to give a try to dramas that i have dropped and that ended up me finishing this one...
the first half is a complete comedy and the second half is intense....
the overall story is decent but i still ended up fast-forwarding a lot esp the romance... is it just me or kim soo hyun dont look that comfortable in kissing scenes? she seems kind of hesitant to do it...
i dont have any particular feeling after finishing it... i neither dislike it nor like it... just a drama i watched and will forget it afterward...

kang taeoh was such a cutie-pie in runon and he is such an asshole in this one...
jang dong yoon is hilarious as lady kim esp in the first few episodes... his next drama joseon exorcist looks very intense and interesting...

this drama dont have any intention of redeeming people or even make audience like any character... they just want to raise the blood pressure of the audience and make them crave for more... lol

the hints were always there... the king wanted reasons not to kill the queen and him being adamant of having a normal husband-wife relationship after finding out the queen is innocent clearly indicate that he already liked the queen... at that time he already had hwajin and if he had no feelings at all for the queen, he would have let her be instead of insisting on being in a normal relationship...
also till the soul merge the queen showed no emotional attachment to the king and the queen started being starry eyes seeing the king all of a sudden only after the soul merge... the queen has slept with the king multiple times and it is only after the soul merge she started getting affected by his proximity...

It's just a normal highschool romance... If you like that genre then you will like it... There is nothing deep going on in it...

Exactly... You didn't like it and that fine as that's your opinion but just because you didn't like it doesn't mean the drama don't deserve a 9... It got a 9 because majority who watched it loved it...

Dramas get high points when the positive aspects overshadows the negative aspects... All dramas will have some negative aspects or things that won't go well with some people... Mr.queen's entertainment quotient is way higher than the little flaws it has... So that's why it has high rating... It don't even have stars that has huge fan following who will boost the rating just for their favourites...
Also it's a saguek so obviously it will have politics in it but Mr.queen didn't dwell too much into it and maintained its comedy and romance throughout the drama...
If they give too much importance to the political aspect then much more people would have lost interest...

MDL comment section is much more critical when it comes to drama than most other sites I have seen...

For the genre that this drama is, it definitely deserves that 9... Most of the people that watched it while it was ongoing loved it and didn't loose interest in it...
MDL is pretty famous for harsh comment sections and mr.queen is one of the few that managed to get majority postive comments here...

Then I will watch it tomorrow... I don't have anything to watch nowadays...

if its like fiery priest i will watch it... i like action comedies... will wait to see the reaction for ep 2 as well...

son ye jin started off as a lead from her first project itself...
kim taeri is a top actress in korean movie industry and she also started off as a lead and she got lead role in one of the high-profile dramas...
kim go eun also started with lead roles...
rookie actors that graduate with a degree in theater and arts most of the time end up being good actors... she already has an award for best rookie...
also, most of the time netflix original casts good actors whether they are famous or not...
the ones that ruin a drama are mostly idol-actors and not a rookie actor

read the webtoon... he isnt the kind of childish we see on kdramas... he is more like a carefree guy who dont live according to the norms of the society so other people say he is childish...
