I think if the makers decided for this to be on Netflix then they would have to explain all the scenes involving korean folklore as it is hard for the international viewers to follow...

lets face the reality and accept the fact that njh and suzy were signed in as the lead and this is a kdrama...
the change in the script would have been jidal endgame and not dodal...
maybe after the popularity the makers wanted a jindal ending but couldnt go for it because they signed in njh as the lead... this is not an american series were they can change the lead according to popularity...
the only place the writer screwed up is when she wrote hjp with such attractive qualities and the place the director screwed up is by casting someone as good as kim seon ho... then the writer wrote dosan and dalmi as much boring as possible and the makers went to cast popular actors with abv average acting skills instead of going for actors that can bring life into the character no matter how boring it is...
there is literally no proof that njh's agency played politics... soop is considered to be one of the better agencies... just look at their actor list... except for one or two the rest are famous for their acting skills rather than popularity...

mr.queen dont have any hallyu stars with 13m+ instagram followers but the drama on the first day had rating that startup never even came close to... if it was on netflix then it would have been even more popular after the first ep....
if startup was well promoted and the first episode impressed audience then no matter who the leads are it would have done well... the writer and director are quite famous...
look at uncanny counter... even an ocn drama has more rating than startup...
even last year extraordinary you didnt had any famous actors in it and still became a hit among youngsters in both korea and internationally...
startup would have had an even more silent run than record of youth if most of the audience didnt connect with hjp and got obsessed with kim seon ho... record of youth atleast managed to get decent rating for the channel...
if the trailer and first episode are impressive then majority of the audience will start watching it...
look at kingdom on netflix... it has more viewers than startup and tkem worldwide... it didnt had any super popular actors that attracts international fans except ju ji hoon and even he isnt exactly a top hallyu star... it got all the hype because of how well made it was...

movies and dramas are different... everyone started watching shows like dark, money heist or game of thrones because of the unique story and not because of the actors... half of the world didnt even know the name of those actors when they started watching it...

i heard birthcare center is good and it only has like 6 or 8 episodes...
uncanny counter is also getting good reviews and good ratings as well... its also on netflix... i am planning to watch it once it ends airing as it has myster tag on...
if you like dramas with too many negative characters then penthouse is a good watch... its like thai lakron level negative stuff... but its fun to watch.... everyone is planning and plotting... lol

the scenes b/w king and the queen is fun to watch...

the makers could have atleast released the uncensored version outside china... some scenes look so out of the blue and disconnected...
