The romance is mostly from sunjae's side and he fell for the 19yr old Sol and even in the future still had feelings for her. 34 yr old Sol is still stuck on her fangirl mode and hasn't shown any sort of romantic feelings for him. He would have been in love with her no matter at what age she is in.

Why shouldn't it get high rating? If majority of the people watching it loves it then it deserves the rating. It's not like the drama has top actors and their hardcore fans are giving the rating. Neither this nor twinkling watermelon have actors with that kind of fandom. I got bored with the last couple of episodes of twinkling watermelon and I personally won't give it a 9/10 but majority loved it. For the first 4 episodes of this drama it's a total 10/10 for me. Acting, directing, executive are all done well and it totally deserves that rating as of now. It's the execution that makes the difference and not the genre or how complex the story is.

Song kang was fine in sweet home 1 but didn't impress me in any other drama he did. I first saw him in love alarm and was drooling over him and didn't care about his acting that much since he was very new. But he tested my patience in my demon. He was so bad. The only saving grace was his chemistry with kim yoo Jung. They do look great together. It was the same with eunwoo. I was drooling over him and didn't care about his acting when I saw gangnam beauty, tried watching historian and couldn't stand his acting and then tried true beauty hoping he would have improved but no luck. I don't think Inhyuk is a negative character at all. He seems to be genuinely friends with sunjae and in the first episode he was angry because sunjae decided to quit without talking it with the rest of the members and he had to know it from a 3rd person. For someone who has know each other for 15+ yrs that's a very valid reason to be pissed but not enough for inhyuk to kill sunjae.

I don't get the hate for kyd. He isn't exactly an amazing actor but he is decent enough and definitely better than some who gets lead roles based on looks.
The drama was pretty good but only now I got to know it's the higest rated in mdl. Going by that it's not exceptionally good. I enjoyed go back couple and 18 again more than this. It got a little draggy towards the end but still a good watch and had some heart warming scenes.
