I disagree. Duk Im lived almost all her life living by other people's decisions and choices for her. She thought…
It's not about who has the right or who doesn't. It's the fact that they complain over and over and not do anything about it. The don't take action, they just run their mouth. It's annoying.
You misunderstand. It's a privilege to serve the king. That's how it seemed in that period. Servants and slaves most likely had a tougher time serving everyone else.
I totally agree that she was at war within her own self. But the war was unnecessarily prolonged.
Court maids are not considered slaves. She was getting a wage which she used on her brother.
Sure, the political rule was unfair... Wives were tossed aside when the husbands found them displeasing and they weren't allowed to leave. But that's even more reason for them to do something about it or leave. Stop complaining. No complaining about it once or twice would have been fine, but she kept doing it over and over again
She was not imprisoned or forced. She had a JOB Her feelings didn't imprison her. She willingly did it herself.
No, she didn't tell the king that she loved him because it was a power play. The relationship was already so one-sided that if she told him, the relationship will fall. They wouldn't have been drawn to each other. If anything, her love freed her from her feelings of being trapped.
What are you saying?? The King had to go to work. He has a whole country to rule. Forgive him if he isn't 24/7 with her and wants to be a good king to his people. If I remember correctly, she was working after marriage as well, transcribing books. I don't see anything wrong with that. Selfish?
You shouldn't complain about a decision you've made
To the bomber: The world isn't rainbows and marshmallows. People make hateful comments online. Boohoo get over it. Doesn't mean you go harming people It's been 5 months, how do you expect people to remember it? The world doesn't revolve around you. People have their own lives to live
'is that what they would have wanted' probably one of the lowest hanging fruits
Those comments are very mild compared to death threats that people receive. People don't need to take responsibility for every comment they make. Only when they are threats that they become an issue. Also, those comments aren't realistic. People aren't mean for no reason.
They are intentionally leaving out all the positive comments, only focusing on the bad. Let me ask you, what are the type of people that only focus on the negatives in life?
People that know something don't post stuff online for no reason, high chance they are doing it for attention. People with information very rarely post it in the comments, they'll share it privately or in person
Having negative opinions is not bad. We are human.
If you're afraid that someone will take revenge on you, will you post a leading public comment? I wonder what are the stats
Comments like "if the person saw but didn't do anything..." are almost always directed to men and almost never to women, cause the men are --expected-- to protect. Same for older siblings and parents/ guardians. Point is, don't take online comments too seriously. Everyone has opinions and they have a right to them, good or bad.
Sounds like you've been privileged with a good grandmother
On my father side, my grandmother abandoned my mother when she was a child. On my father side, my grandmother died when I was little, on the opposite side of the world, with a language barrier between us and few chances to see her before she got sick.
Humble yourself, I'd be be happy if I had a bad one
The mother is really getting on my nerves. Everyone condemns the grandmother favouring her sons but no one condemns the mother for favouring her niece
Frick is this going turn out like vampire diaries? I'm gonna drop depending on how they handle the marriage. There's a reason why the fiance is not on the cover photo
They talk about addressing their elders first but then the next scene the ML only addresses The FL although the mother was right there -_-
hypocrites and wolves in sheep's clothing... the other 2 love interests
at episode20 I am significantly less excited for this show
Why are they giving significantly less character development to the person the FL is engaged to than other characters... Oh I wonder what will happen -_-
Is the only way to get someone to fall in love with another to separate them via carriage -_- ML gets half pay deduction of a general's salary after killing a person... woopty doo ML is conveniently in the right place at the right time Why does the ex want to show her ex-fiance's new fiance killing her husband?????
ep21 Somebody, please tell the general to get lost FL just does whatever the general says -_- what happened to the strong female character?
tragic... FL basically joined everyone else in bullying him to break off the engagement. What happened to the promise they made in front of the girl's grave
tragic... they neglected screen time for the guy to grow a backbone and save his marriage
fair and strict my butt... half a year's salary does not equate to anybody's life, the king favours him, that's why it's only that -_-
so disappointing
ep22 the plot convenience on the ml is impeccable overstepping boundaries is his favourite past time

I believe the long break I took in between the series influenced my view but I mostly still stand by it. Her character mostly felt passive aggressive and complaining of the hand life delt her. Most people can't complain and I don't think she should be either when she was so favoured by the king. I feel like people complained less in those days as well.
Most people didn't get to decide. She felt very privileged to complain when she wasn't born a royal.
I understand what you're saying and I totally saw it in the series, too many times I might add, but there were many chances to run away, escape, change her name etc. Even when she couldn't have the king fully, she still wanted a part of him, hence why she lingered around.
I get why she never admitted her feelings to the king. My only complain with the series is that they gave the writing too much of a mellow-dramatic push and pull between the leads (before she became courtesan). It's like the story was waiting for her to make up her mind. Reminding me of vampire diaries where the female lead couldn't choose between the two brothers, except here it's the king and her

The writing was going so good until they brought out the online comments trope
Nope no sympathy for terrorists

I dropped LLTG at 22 episodes in but that's something else all together
I might give 'Who Rules The World' a try. It has the same FL
Do you have any cdrama recommendations?

DROPPED
Dang, I really feel for the female lead. You can't take back neglecting a child
The ratings for cdramas are more lenient than kdrama, so I'll need to adjust what I normally pick. This one is promising
