Thoroughly enjoyed each and every second of all episodes. Top notch chemistry, thoughtful direction and attention to detail, and a cleverly rewritten plot that stays true to the heart and soul of the original despite being toned down rating-wise. Loved how fluffy and wholesome and refreshing the overall tone turned out ot be. This is how you do an amazing novel/webtoon to drama adaptation. It's a 10/10 for me!

Does SW eventually call JY hyung at some point? And does JY malfunction then as I expect and hope he will?
Yes, and based on the preview it will happen on Episode 5 πŸ˜‰

Where can I read the novel and webtoon???
You can read the webtoon officially on Manta (app). Pls note there is a subscription fee for the app.

As for the webnovel, there is no official English translation yet. Here is a fan translation but still incomplete: https://sleepytranslations.com/series/semantic-error/

The original Korean webnovel can be found on Ridibooks (15+ and 19+ versions).

Really appreciate them for that!

Not to dampen the mood but I suppose this is them spoiling us with all the goodies before Seoham enlists on March 10 😭

True lol! But in the original SW had zero social media presence so I guess I'll take what I can get πŸ˜‚ I wonder if JY will ever appear on SW's feed too.

Better yet, I hope Watcha will release a vlog of them together. The ones they gave for SW and JY's individual vlogs were ❀

The amount of times I rewatched some scenes in episodes 3-4 at this point is embarrassing lmao. This drama is ✨everything✨ to me right now! I bought 2 active subscriptions for this (first on gaol but I wasn't too satisfied with the subs then on viki with a vpn). I know... I may be broke but never too broke for my faves. πŸ˜…

[Reminder to please watch legally on Viki and GagaOOLala! πŸ™ I completely understand not everyone will be able to and that's ok, but if you have the means, it really helps in supporting the cast/crew and towards the production of a possible 2nd season in the future. I heard on Viki you can use the code VIKIFREE or FREEVIKI for a free 1 month pass.]

I think the scriptwriter is doing a good job adapting the novel/manhwa to 8 episodes. Some scenes may have been changed and condensed or reordered, but this is still no doubt essentially the same story I fell in love with when I read it.

Shoutout to Seoham and Jaechan for being pitch perfect actors for their roles with perfect chemistry. Srsly, they have had me yelling at my screen and banging on the walls πŸ˜‚ (Much love to the support cast too they are great! Choi Yuna <3)

Btw FYI Jaeyoung and Sangwoo have actual IG accs (@zzang_jae_0_0 & @choosangwoo_) where they post in real time coinciding with the show. It's so cute. Please go give them a follow too! 😊

To preface, I'm a fan of the novel & webtoon. I waited a long time for this drama to air ever since it was announced. That said I'm loving this adaptation so far, despite the show having to condense the story and changing up some things. Within context of the show on its own which has good flow/pacing, I don't mind the deviation from the source all that much. They gotta do what they gotta do given the episode and time constraints.

Some points I love: (1) High quality production for a web series (the setting/world building appears so lively with all the background characters especially Jaeyoung's friends who were given more personality to them). Kudos to the production team as well for setting up actual IG accs and releasing slice of life in-character vlogs for Jaeyoung and Sangwoo. The immersion factor of it is so fun. (2) It's got the style of directing/editing that I like. (3) The lead actors suit their characters a lot. (I gotta say the chemistry and height difference is sending me πŸ’–). It really feels like watching JangChu being brought to life. I'm happy with it. Gave it a 10/10 for now to help with the rating. πŸ™‚ I hope a lot of people, including me, will continue to enjoy it until the end.
