think it's important to understand that this series isn't driven by intense or deep plot development. it's a slice of life about teenagers navigating friendships, feelings, and new relationships. completely understandable if that's not something that captures your interest or keeps you invested but it IS for many! if you're looking for something lighthearted and laidback that incorporates thai humor, i'd give it a watch!
they officially start dating in episode 19 but I really wouldn't skip the episodes leading to it! there are many fluffy + sweet scenes way before they define their relationship
the synopsis + plot definitely hit home because I too had a massive crush on my older brother's friend when I was younger. I especially loved how the show portrayed sang zhi's unrequited love in the earlier episodes; it was so innocent, pure, and unconditional -- her small acts of service and overall effort was so endearing to me (╥_╥) I honestly think I enjoyed their brother/sister dynamic far more than the romance that develops later!
when I first heard about the age gap, I was concerned (power dynamic, misogyny, grooming, etc.) but their relationship was curated so beautifully. amazing communication, mutual effort to understand one another, and overall consistency in their relationship's development.
favorite drama this summer :') i've been struggling to find romance dramas that genuinely make my heart flutter, without the exaggerated romance and wifty definitely did not disappoint. i loved how lovable the female lead was; her personality and cute antics were so natural and endearing. the supporting characters (and second lead romance) also offered so many wonderful portions to the plot and i found myself growing attached to their little friend group. it's so hard to say goodbye but this show definitely made my first half of summer brighter and a lot warmer too
no toxic behavior/relationships, lovely dialogue, amazing ost (!!!!), good chemistry, natural acting. It was such a refreshing watch, every episode was fun and exciting!
they "officially" date somewhere between episodes 23-28 but she directly communicates her feelings/tells him she…
no problem at all!
I personally found the second male lead to be less involved in the main couple's relationship in this adaptation in comparison to the korean version so you wouldn't miss much when fast-forwarding
also, since you're most invested in the main couple, I want to give you a heads up! apart from ximen/xiaoyou couple that's included in all the adaptations, this version also created one for meizuo. I won't say much but this couple does have several episodes focusing on the progression(?) of their relationship but it's safe to skip through them as it doesn't affect the main plot
have fun watching! I loved daomingsi most in this version, I hope you do too
I just started watching this. Can someone tell me in which episode the leads get together?
they "officially" date somewhere between episodes 23-28 but she directly communicates her feelings/tells him she likes him around episode 33-36
don't let that discourage you, there's a lot of growth in their bond even when they're not "officially together" and you'll miss daomingsi's character development if you were to skip episodes
can't believe I didn't watch this sooner! If you're debating whether to start it or not, please do! this was my first (complete) watch of a c-drama and I loved it so much. If you're familiar with the k-drama alchemy of souls and enjoyed it, I have a strong feeling you'll enjoy this too. romance aside, there's a lot the plot has to offer and the episodes are addicting
also saw a lot of distaste towards esther yu's portrayal of orchid but I personally found her to be incredibly endearing and cute. I promise her character development is worth the mild annoyance many viewers seem to experience regarding her voice
this is also my first dylan wang drama! didi's so talented, i'm currently watching meteor garden ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*
+ the ost is phenomenal, the cinematography/CGI/coloring and costumes are beautiful
I started Star in my Mind thinking it’d make the wait easier, but I’ve already finished it! Now I need another…
if you enjoy the lighthearted plot and fluffy content, I recommend Fish Upon the Sky! It has a similar vibe to My School President. If you like the 'one character pining over the other' trope, you'll definitely enjoy it. Phuwin and Pond from Never Let Me Go series + The Gifted Season 2, Mix from Tale of Thousand Stars, and Neo and Louis from The Eclipse are in the cast (Neo is so funny in this)
I felt like the episode started in the middle of an episode if that makes sense. Like I checked that I didn’t…
I did the same thing! I had to rewind to make sure I didn't skip too far after the intro..
still love the show + winteam but I'm growing impatient.. I have a feeling they'll cram/rush a bunch of development in the last two episodes, especially the Kanchanaburi trip ):
I questioned the chemistry between the two leads as it seemed slightly awkward in the first episode but the second episode dissolved any concerns. I'm so proud of Pond and Phuwin :')
I really loved how both characters got to experience 'little firsts' together; both being introduced to new environments and situations due to the others' influence. Neungdiao eating roti sai mai on the street curb and Palm learning ball room dance thanks to Neung's piano audition. Those scenes were so tender and sweet to me somehow; that despite having this 'power and powerless' status dynamic, they get to share closeness through these few moments
+ I'm really interested in seeing Chopper's character development.. I wonder how they'll progress his character's motives and values, especially with the influence and pressure of his father's greed
like many others in the comments, I wasn't expecting myself to love this so much. almost all the characters are so endearing and likable (so far) but special shoutout to tinn's best friend, thiu
if you're looking for something lighthearted, sweet, fluffy, and funny to watch -- this is the show!
love the foundation they're setting for the upcoming plot! first episode felt a little slow but I'm sure that's necessary for the flow of future episodes. pondphuwin's facial features have matured so much since FUTS; they both look so handsome. dialogue and body movement between the two seems slightly awkward but we'll see how they progress
+ the coloring, filters, and overall cinematography is stunning

the condescending sarcasm is unnecessary. give it a try first and if it doesn't meet your standards or liking, that's completely okay
+ gemini and fourth's cover of city has been on replay.. wishing it'd be available on streaming platforms like spotify
