i'm curious to know how a guy, a gay guy, would have wrote the story differently. not to discredit Toyota's work…
From my personal reading and viewing experience, gay writers tend to write something more realistically and most of them are about gay culture. So many LGBT film stories were written by gay men. They know the struggle of being gay so it's rare to see them writing fluff stuff. So I can't imagine a gay writer writing Cherry Magic.
Now we can see the vast difference between casting professional actors and inexperienced actors. I cringed at…
From Ossan's Love, Pornographer, Indigo No Kinbu to this one, the acting skills are pretty solid and convincing. The problem is those Thai school dramas…So many new faces that can't even act.
although it's not over yet i just know this drama is a whole 10/10, and although i respect all opinions but if…
It's either homophobics or some other BL drama fans who did that. I just saw a fan of ITSAY commenting on Adam Uni's comment section, saying ITSAY has done better based on the twitter world trending and he also thought Cherry Magic was a fantasy cliche and compained why people seldomly talked about ITSAY…The comment then got deleted.( I didn't see it a few hours later) I was like how could you compare Thai and Japan's twitter popularity when this show was barely promoted outside Japan. And any popular Thai BL can easily hit no. 1 when many bl fans in Thailand are loving tagging BL dramas. In Japan, it's aired in the middle of the night so it's already a miracle to hit no. 1 in Japan's trending chart at that time. And Adam has every right to promote what he wants. I love both shows but for god's sake, stop bashing the other one when your beloved show doesn't get some people's attention. But it also shows that Japan's BL has become a threat to other countries. That's a good thing.
This show just wanna kill me. It's a sad story so far if you look at the relationship in Kurosawa's perspective and the drama even made it harder for him loving Adachi for 7 years…it's only one year in the manga…But they handle it so well with this change. We audience are so immersed with their relationship. Ahhhhhh! This will definitely be one of the BL classics in BL fandom and I'm so proud of it.
It's a movie about making the audience feel the struggle of the protagonist, but not to put on words/scenes what…
I would say the same. And I recommend people to read the novel after watching the film if the English translation is out . You'll find a better explanation of Birdy's perspective.
