The writers spent so much time writing and changed the script back and forth to make this work. I have a feeling that this will be one of the best Taiwanese dramas in years. It's also very popular in China other than HIStory series we know. Plus, the score on Douban beats the hell out of any current Chinese dramas and became the no. 1 highest rating drama. Taiwanese dramas already had three gems this year. The World Between Us, The Making Of An Ordinary Woman and then this. They all got more than 9 on Douban and that's very hard to reach 'cuz we all know Chinese fans are extremely picky. Just hope International fans could get on board too.
I finally recover from the pain to come here and make some comments after that awful ending. The story at last failed the awesome actors...It was a simple story but really effective and that's why it's really popular in both China and Taiwan and BL fandom. I thought this would be my coming-of-age high school bl gem 'cuz it successfully depicted the style of lousy students in high school. Some people found them cheesy and annoying but that's how real they are. But the Kdrama style of sad ending came out of nowhere and I'm just so disappointed. This is not the creative HIStory I remember....It's like China's Uncontrolled Love shitty sad story all over again. Am I watching a Chinese drama? I thought Taiwan already legalized same-sex marriage....No wonder Taiwanese people are mad as fuck. Their gay couples can finally have their own weddings in public but the ending is like it's in Taiwan in 1980s....Such a slap in the face. This writer is still living in the past when sad gay mangas were popular and that's why she used the ideas from them. She better not touch any bl drama again 'cuz I don't want another amazing actors got wasted again.

If it ain't for the ending, I'd have given it a high score. The other bl shows can't compare when it comes to the acting but they screwed it. Such a pity.

For me, the life experience of a big age gap in any phase of life is different. 20 30, 30 40, 30 50, are all the same. If they can grow and help each other through time, I don't think anyone has place to judge them. And if they have not done anything wrong, who are we to judge? It's not like they're promoting a sugar daddy taking advantage of an 18-year-old student. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't say the show is not good because of this. It's totally a personal taste.

The Trapped chaos really scared them for sure. The plot is really simple. But judging from the reaction in China, it's got much much better reviews compared to Trapped. As for international fans, it's the other way around. But they care about the Chinese and mandarin fans the most 'cuz that's where they got the money. I think we international fans are more prone to interesting plots but I still love this though. This and Ossan's Love are the only bl dramas I like now.

You made it like this is not a right thing to do in the first place but without giving any reason to justify your point. The fact that you feel uncomfortable for this relationship is you own problem, imo. It has nothing to do with the show.

I really hope we can get a wedding here since it's legal to marry there. And it will be the first official wedding in bl dramas and that can also explain the "have never done before in bl" statement.
Don't worry, guys. During an interview, the actors said the ending would be satisfying to all people. The ending of ep 18 and the trailer are just misleading like what they did for Trapped's trailer.
