I guess that's because of the previous public humiliation of his. Maybe the public would revolt because he was declared a corrupt official. The subtitles were terrible but I guess San Lang asked him if he would want to work again but Jiang Chang Yang denied by saying that he would travel with his wife and help him indirectly by spying or something instead of working directly before.

Yeah maybe they tore it up or otherwise why would they call each other husband-wife. Also, I guess after signing it themselves, they have to go to the court or something to make it official but they never went so.

The drama's over. No more next part. Feels so surreal. I enjoyed it wholly all these months. All the updates and excitement and all, I'm gonna miss it seriously!!!! Really want to appreciate the makers. The story was amazing and like literally, all the characters were very very well written. Had a mix of all, romance, comedy, bravery, business, life lessons, etc. Flourished Peony was my first chinese historical drama and I swear I don't regret watching it, every episode was worth it. LOVED IT GENUINELY! ♥️✨

Karma is so fckn real. That whole sequence where Youzhen says to restart their lives and at that very moment Liu Chang gets stabbed by Zhang Qian and then Youzhen walking away blankly, it was very nice. I really want to appreciate Wei Zheming's acting skills. He really can do both calm, romantic and villainous roles like these perfectly! ♥️
