A Painful, but Interesting Watch
The somewhat mundanity of this film is definitely not for everybody, but for me, I liked it. For those who enjoy slice-of-life films that focus on the relationships between characters, growing up in an environment you want to run away from, loneliness, not seeing a real future for yourself, I recommend giving this movie a chance.I think the most compelling part of this movie is the acting. Bang Minah did an phenomenal job in every scene. It completely drew me in and pulled me inside of Kang Yi's head. I felt myself smiling with her, and I felt my heart breaking with her. She loved her friends a lot, especially So Young, and it was heartbreaking seeing how many times she continued to trust So Young and have faith in their friendship going back to the way it was despite So Young's changed attitude towards her.
It was heartbreaking how the characters' connections developed throughout the film, how these changes affected them and affected their dynamic, and witnessing Kang Yi's growing depression. Once these girls were all each other had and probably their own happiness, and then their own feelings and lives got in between their connections with each other. In adolescence, feelings are so big and confusing, you have no idea how to deal with them. This film is a depressing portrayal of life.

I'm surprised this drama isn't more popular! The plot was interesting and different from the typical GL, and the actors were all absolutely phenomenal. It can be fun watching shows where the characters are morally gray, and you end up sympathizing with the antagonist. That's how I felt watching this show. The series is way too short for me! I didn't mind the slow burn, but I do wish we got just a little more intimate scenes between Win and Boon. I think there wasn't a lot of time to show us more of that side. I prefer plot-driven GLs than ones that rely on romance scenes to keep the viewers engaged, though I still wish we could've had a couple more scenes of Win and Boon even just cuddling or flirting with each other. Despite that, I still thoroughly enjoyed all the moments Win and Boon shared. The actresses did an amazing job portraying chemistry between the two characters even when they were just exchanging looks.

The Best GL!!!
This is genuinely the best GL I've ever seen. The story is different and compelling, and the acting is phenomenal. My attention span isn't the best, so I tend to feel a little bored when watching the first few episodes or the middle episodes of a show. With Clairebell, I never felt bored. I ended up loving so many of these characters so deeply, empathizing with them and rooting for them the more I watched. The ending was satisfying and so, so, so touching. I love this pairing and I absolutely love this show with all my heart! There are some things that could have been better. Bell seemingly moved on from her father's death too quickly, and same for Claire with Pon. Maybe this was due to such a short season, but I think there could have been a few moments to show how grief continues to creep up on you. Some people also critiqued how quickly Claire and Bell got together. In my opinion, I think this makes sense since they are in a prison. Of course I don't know what that sort of life would be like, but I can imagine trauma bonding is common between women in prison and also the fact there is no one else to hang out with besides each other. We live in a different pace and life on the outside and have different responsibilities than them. It made sense for me at least, so I don't care for that critique as much.
Overall, an amazing show! I still give it 10/10 because it touched me so deeply, and I believe everyone involved in this series gave it their all - the writers, directors, actors. etc. I thank the creators of this show tenfold for bringing such a gem to queer media.
