I got flamed in the comments of iQIYI for saying the singing scene was cringe. Yes , music has been used during wars, revolutions, slavery, etc., but I can guarantee you it wasn’t set up like a high school musical scene. The parasocial relationships people have with BL actors is leaving no room for critique of the writing, which makes no sense because the actors are not involved in that process. Also the argument “why are you still watching it then??” Is so frustrating because this show has had so much hype, people are waiting for the show to live up to that hype and expectations.
