This drama is so stressful to watch, the office politics and misery piling onto female lead... In previews they are showing her graduating in time with others, so I don't think it will be much of a burden 🤔 There's a scene of her coming to ML's basement and crying tho. Seeing how they handled ML's father stuff I don't think it will be as dramatic, but who knows.

sorry for late reply, he isn't all that important in the story. as far as i remember he got rich but lost it all once he got exposed for faking research or something like that. in the book he's not much of a rival, at least imho. there was 0 implication FL ever liked him, she was all about ML

out of 87 chapters, i remember they got back together in chapter 59-60 so there was quite a bit. the chapter abtout their result of exams to uni is 43, and 44 is start of the uni part, so halfway. there's no love triangle or anything like that. i saw spoilery behind clips from what i think might be the last episode and that's her graduation from uni? and there is another clip that has more uni scenes too. tho idk when and how they will transition the drama to uni setting...

Late comment but in the novel basically ML went off grid as his father fell ill, he had some other issues as well. He didn't contact the FL after they graduated. She didn't get into uni of choice but he did, so she retook exams and met him there. He changed as a person compared to high school and she did too. He rejects her at first [the scene in the first episode] but gradually warms up and they start dating. Happy ending, they get married and have a kid. She works in animation, he does AI stuff. It's a nice novel, wish there was a proper translation. They changed it up a bit for the drama, but not drastically.
maybe it's just me but Chen Zhe Yuan is really nailing the role. especially after I read the novel, he really is doing a great job so far. it's tricky to play such a.. casual genius? also i wonder how will they handle the transition to college given there isn't much of that shown in the trailers 🤔 just couple scenes
The romance isn't really the focus of the drama, it's more about human relationships in general. All female leads are paired up with someone, but don't expect too many heart fluttering scenes. There's one slow burn couple, struggling husband and wife, ex coming back, someone hopelessly in love, pos boyfriend, meet cute couple... You have it all. This drama tries to be realistic too, so jt has an impact on the romance side, and can be flustrating to some. I saw all available episodes and previews, honestly I can't tell the fate of the couples.
personally i like it a lot, the leads have enough chemistry for me and the actor really sells the character of cold ceo who won't admit he's already in love with her. yea it's full of cliches and kinda slower on relationship developement side but... it is a fake marriage drama, you have to watch them with one eye closed to ignore plot holes and whatnot. it's a cute, light watch
