I agree with everything you say except that I like it XD I guess bc it had a lot of potential.
Totally understand! I think I was just expecting something else out of it so I was super disappointed.

Title Himitsu: The Top Secret Spoiler
i wouldn’t give too much thoughts about that review. the fact that the problems they mentioned could’ve been…
Hey! I'm the one who left the negative review of this drama. I totally respect where y'all are coming from and will admit that this drama was just really not for me and I may not have paid the closest attention especially after the halfway point, but I want to say that I definitely did not come into this drama with a closed mind - I really wanted to like it and at least tried to give it fair chance by watching until the end, but I ultimately found the characters and writing lacking in my opinion. I was disappointed that the mystery aspect was not very well laid out - not only are the cases the Ninth solves not all that compelling, but also Takimoto being a mole in the police felt very contrived to me and his backstory and the cult stuff only comes into play at the very end. I understand Suzuki is not technically a main character, but he inevitably still is at the core of how Maki and Yukiko and other characters interact with Aoki because of his appearance so I wish more was done to make Aoki his own person separate from Suzuki because otherwise he is always a stand-in for/extension of Suzuki which makes me feel bad for him lol. Like, if Yukiko was in love with Maki the whole time, doesn't that basically mean she was using Aoki/Suzuki to get back at Maki for not feeling the same about her? That's messed up! Maybe it's just the fundamental choice of having Suzuki and Aoki look exactly the same that doesn't work for me. I also find it really hard to accept that Aoki still feels so strongly for Maki and is intent at staying at the Ninth even after his sister and her husband are cruelly annihilated because of his work and relationship to Maki. It feels unrealistic that he's THAT dedicated to the cause and supporting Maki that he accepts that his family ended up being collateral damage. Again, it could be that having the context of the manga would've made these things easier for me to follow and appreciate, but as standalone drama, I just couldn't get into it unfortunately.
