Koo Kyo Hwan stole the show for me
Might not be everyone's piece of cake but I'll highly recommend it

This is probably one of the best KDramas I've watched. Good, heart warming story, fantastic acting all around, no filler episodes, no excessive unnecessary drama.
Highly recommended!

I agree with you, the first half felt deep, but the second half was more repetitive and just shallow. Not bad, but not able to meet the bar set by the first half.

A heartwarming show.
The FL would be annoy at times, but I realised that's the point of the show, that she's learning along as she goes which was thoroughly relatable. Brilliant first episode too!

Am I the only one who feels like they lost the plot in the second half of the show? Episodes 15 to 18 seemed oversimplified, all the scheming and villainous characters received a telling off and backed away so easily?

Also I guess they had to stay true to the real history of the king and coup - the show was sort of a dramatized "unseen, untold version of history"

The final third felt rushed and not that deep.
First half was one of the best I've seen.

That's true, Vagabond started pretty strongly, then just went downhill

The EXO appearances in episode 4 brought me such joy

If the second half of the show had more baseball/field/games scenes I would have rated it 10/10. It seemed like their budget ran out towards the end

For the first 10 episodes I would have rated this show a 9/10
But towards the end i had to bring it down to a 6.5
