i agree that i was jumping to really big conclusions here but even when his character eventually becomes the good guy there’s still years of misunderstanding and pain on ae-jung’s end that won’t (or at least shouldn’t) magically get better bc of him suddenly being in her life again :/
although song ji-hyo's beauty is literally timeless and she looks amazing in this show, i feel like they lowkey did her dirty with the super white foundation and the extremely pink lip stains... the white is just too far off from her actually skin color and the pink is wayyyy too strong for the rest of her face (and although this might be misunderstood, her age. i'd love to see her in more classically "successful working woman" makeup, y'know?? like my queen ms. ji sun woo <3). my favorite scenes were actually the ones where it looked like she wasn't wearing any makeup. just let her skin glow and her features stand out naturally!!! petition for them to change her makeup artist!!!

now hear me out. even though this guy was "dumped" by the woman he loved and suffered terribly afterwards, is it actually her fault??? like seriously, the part that really annoyed me was when dae-oh just accepted the idea that ae-jung dumped him bc he was poor, had no connections, and no future ahead of him. like what???? my girl is ALSO POOR her mom literally had her clean the men's bathhouse for goodness sakes. and after dating her for so long and loving her that much, do you really think so little of her that she would really leave you because of money??? like huh???? do you know her at all????
and don't get me wrong i do feel bad that the guy was so torn up about the break up but that does NOT excuse his repeated attempts at publicly humiliating ae-jung. like no offense, but it's been 14 years -- shouldn't you be more of an adult and not so much of a petty child by pursuing this ridiculous revenge plot??? settling your dues in private was closer to fine for me (even though it made me SO mad to see how he treated her in the initial meeting) but doing it in public is really just... unclassy, not cool, and extremely rude of him, especially when all she'd been trying to do up to that point was respectfully move on.
and honestly, looking at the route that the drama is currently taking, ae-jung is probably gonna get back together with dae-oh and marry/raise ha-nee with him. but:
(1) is this guy REALLY husband and father material? like let's be real, besides his wealth and good looks would he truly be able to understand what being a father entails and requires from a person emotionally? not saying that there's not chance for him to be a good person but i would argue that becoming a new father to a teen is a lot more difficult than becoming a new father to a new born baby, if that makes sense -- there's just so much history and complicated feelings on ha-nee's end that it's hard for me to imagine that him marrying ae-jung is really a good idea.
and (2) would it really be worth it for ae-jung to end up with dae-oh? all the years of trashy part-time jobs and struggling to get a promotion and getting discriminated against by other people for being a single mom to suddenly become okay after she ends up with her original, one true love? like no, that's not how real life works and unless he really works hard to make up for the 14 years of ha-nee's life (and child support!) he missed i don't see how this story could go so well!!!!
and while there's nothing wrong with falling in love with your ex again i feel like the story of moving on from your past regrets/misunderstandings and falling in love with someone ELSE -- who actually understands what it feels like to be a single parent and raise a child without a partner -- would be SO much more powerful. like imagine her falling in love with someone who is also constantly misunderstood and shunned by the public but still has a heart and is honestly super handsome and doesn't seem like someone who would try to take revenge on a girl who ghosted him 14 years ago... just... chef's kiss

i absolutely adore this film, i was crying all throughout the last half of the movie but in a good way. all the characters are so real and complex, the actors are amazing, you can really feel the emotion through their eyes. its been like twenty minutes since i finished the movie but i'm still crying i honestly just can't even djklafjasf pls watch thi smovie y'all i swear u won't regret it
omg this is literally my favorite movie of all time. i watched it today and i'm still reeling from the effect it had on me. just the fleshed out personality and super sweet dynamic between the main characters and the way everything comes together is so pERFECT !!!!! honestly after watching this i think all other school romances will pale in comparison (except she's dating the gangster teehee). like its so good i NEEDED to make a MDL account to comment on this page and share my love
