Just because he doesn't have a choice or feel like he does not have one, it doesn't mean that his behavior is…
Also, the difference in the guys is that:
- Bison & Fadel: they manipulate the others not for the fact to hurt them but to keep their covers and not involve anyone in dangerous situations. It's still laying but the main focus is not to bring anyone harm. And they did not lie in case of their feelings and motivation towards the other guys.
- Style: his motivation has been shitty and there is no other way around it. Most likely because he thought that Fadel will be just "no string attached" kind of situation but the he fell for him. Now he is laying because he is scared and in love. His manipulation was mostly based on true feelings (even if it was lust and thrill). From the beginning you get the feeling that his intentions was not to hurt either but to have fun. Then, eventually, you can see that he really cares about Fadel and wants the best for him somehow. You just know that he is genuine about his feelings.
- Kant: he is manipulating for the sole purpose to hurt Bison and Fadel, and that's the biggest difference. Of course, I don't say he wants it or feel okay with it but he is trying to help the Cap to at least put them in jail. You can see that he does not want to go too deeply into this situation, he wants to get out as soon as possible to not to get attached easily. Why? Because he has a mission and his mission is literally to harm (either catch or let the guys be killed) even if not with his own hands. The interest and lust was there from the beginning but the rest is more about getting Bison's trust not about true feelings. He does not notice things about Bison because he is genuine, he just wants all the brownie points to keep his cover and I feel like this is what pisses people off the most. He goes so hard to make Bison fell in love with him to success in his mission. He even goes as far as pretending to be into things he might be not into. Using sexual manipulation just to appeal to Bison's every need (to get some dirt on him, not to mention that he even drugged 🦬 and had his brother lying just to find some evidence). Did he have to go this far, I'm wondering?
As you can see, all bad but all different. Of course, we are not here to judge which harm is lesser. At the end of the day hurting someone is hurting. Lying is laying. Manipulating is manipulating, no matter the reason. But I think this is an interesting point to make if you want to understand why some people might feel more biased towards one character than the other :)

Okay if that makes you feel better - they are all bad guys due to many reasons. I didn't state that earlier because your question was about Kant and I was focusing on him. As for the relating with characters, this is what watchers do. They relate to characters they like or "feel" the most because they can understand their perspective so even if you don't think people do or should sympathize, they most likely do. And this is again a point to understand if you want to see why people might not like Kant's character. I actually don't understand what you mean when you say you don't understand what I mean because it's literally what Kant is doing. I did not say he is doing it with pleasure or for funzies. Yes, he is in a bad spot. Yes, he has feelings for Bison. Yes, he wants to protect himself and his brother. All things valid, non of them making his betrayal disappear. We might understand his perspective (as so does Bison most likely) but it doesn't take away the pain he is causing. I actually don't understand why you are so fixated on making Kant cleaner than he is. He is flawed and he is not doing a good thing by betraying the person who he loves and who loves him. Is he the only one? Of course not. Again, they are all flawed. And that's okay! He probably will get his chance to make better choices and so does the others. But for the last time, my point is: just because the other guys are in the wrong it does not clean Kant's sleeves. If you can understand why the other guys are bad or are doing bad things you should be able to understand that too. No one is perfect and it's never just one side of the coin. They all have good and bad qualities but like I said before too, people choose what they want to sympathize with and they are not sympathizing with Kant for the reasons I already stated (at least in my perspective). Respectfully :)
Okay all Kant haters to the front ! I’ve seen many ppl who actually hate Kant l I guess when mentioning how…
Just because he doesn't have a choice or feel like he does not have one, it doesn't mean that his behavior is morally okay. He is deliberately manipulating, laying and playing with Bison's feelings and wellbeing. Of course, there is a reason for it but just because there is one it doesn't mean he is a clean guy. Just like Bison and Fedel being manipulated into killing potential "bad guys" are not innocent just because Mother is playing them. They all can choose what they want to do and they are choosing the morally gray options for whatever reasons. So objectively speaking he is a bad guy. I think the reasons so many people doesn't like this character is the fact that he is destroying one's trust and potentially the ability to love and building healthy relationships due to potential trauma. I also think we all or at least a big bunch of us been there at some point. Being betrayed by the person that supposed to "love you" and getting your trust broken is one of the most painful experience while on the other hand it's not so often that your boyfriend is a hitman so naturally people relate and sympathize with Bison more. But that's just my perspective of course and I don't mind at all if someone like Kant. Hell, I like him too. I just hate seeing Bison heartbroken too. :)
