Hey Noora it's not going to work for me today after all either. I have an appointment at 4 my time that I forgot about, so I'm actually leaving now in order to make it in time. I'll probably be back in 2 hours, but that would probably be kind of late for you. Otherwise maybe Friday around this time?? I have work or plans the rest of this week around that time except for Fri. and Sunday :P

That's fine! -just msg me when you're back and if I'm still around I'll let you know. I might have something going on later so you might have to finish the movie without me if we get started later than 11:30ish your time.

You're welcome and I hope you're had a great party! A song I came across today that made me think of your birthday:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClhykxkrFQY I figured you had something else going on, so I chatted with Kit, Noora, & Duffy instead. OOOH, vacation huh?! Where are you going?? Miss you too! It's probably good that I won't have something else to procrastinate doing instead of projects I have to get done soon. :P Hope you have a great trip!! :D

That's good! It's never fun to be woken up by any loud noise :P I see -our town's really strict, and has been that way for a long time. There was a fireworks accident at my town's display 12ish years ago and the mayor went a little crazy with laws then. We don't have candy tossed in parades either :(

It was and I wish you could share cheesecake over the internet -I totally would've given you a piece.

I bet and I feel so bad for the families of the people who died! Hopefully you'll have safe travels in the future, but at least you made it safe and sound this time!

I've bookmarked your blog :)

Here's the gluten free "gingersnap" recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/wicklewoods-ginger-nut-biscuits-gluten-free-437603 Sorry it took me so long to dig up!!

Aww that's too bad, but I can sympathize with you on the firecrackers -people set them off even though they're illegal here. :P All we're really allowed to do is sparklers.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We went out to dinner to noodles and company and then came home and ate some cinnamon swirl cheesecake my mom made. The next town north of us has fireworks on the 3rd, so we went and saw those which was pretty cool because we'd only been there once before -last time there was live pieces of fireworks falling into the crowd, but we always seem to have bad luck at firework shows! Then a friend came over to visit, which was nice :)

You must!! Definitely send me the link to it once you get it up and running :) I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures.

Did you hear about the plane that crashed landing in SFO from seoul? Very sad and it must have been scary!

Yep, except when trying to sit down :P That would be so cool to make a living doing that!

Good luck and hope you travel safe! Fighting! Hope you're enjoying some fireworks from the sky -we went and saw some in the next town over for my birthday with friends :) Be sure to tell me all your cool stories and all about your adventures there :D

I see! In MI comercial picking spots are all over the place where we used to live. We tried planting blueberry bushes here and the only survivor gets eaten by deer. :( That's chilly for July! It's around 70 here, & normally in the 80's this time of year. Darn messed up weather!!
I agree about the heavy part, and they tend to get really hot in summer! Yeah, some of the corsets are pretty horrendous. Reading LHOTP as a kid I always thought they and hoop skirts were cool, but now not so much. If only regency dresses came back in style....although maybe not as floor length gowns. We should start a fashion line with regency style dresses for modern wear :D You have a lot of places to volunteer/dress up historically -lucky!! Around here we don't have too much other than buckskinner's encampments.

Synthetic, but one's silk feeling. Simplicity makes sense, but I can never make it look good!

Awesome! Thank you! I'll have to try out all the tips and things to see if I can figure out my scarf-phobia :) Keep reminding me about the gingersnap recipe....my mom buried it somewhere and I haven't had the chance to ask her where she put it -last week was crazy busy!!

Wow you guys are early then! I wish we had blueberries here!! They're so much easier to pick than strawberries, but they don't grow well here. In Michigan we used to pick every summer & my dad still brings a box home when he goes there on business.

Oooh Lucky, I love the late 1700's and regency era fashions -the dresses are so beautiful, but I have to say I don't think I'd like wearing a corset very much!! Thank goodness we don't have those now days. We usually did "pioneer" era clothes -bonnet, long skirt, blouse, and plain shoes. It wasn't usually highly formal though and a plain t with a skirt was okay.

Yep, 5 extra hours and yes I got paid, but I don't really get actual overtime as part time employee.

Okay, then I guess I do like sweaters. I never really considered fabric weight and type to be the issue before -I only have a few slippery silk scarves and they just drape weird.

I know! I still can't believe how much I was able to stuff in my suitcase for my trip last month -I could have been set for 2 or 3 weeks in outfits if I had too. Empire waist tops rock! I'm not super curvy, but it helps make me look less blocky even though I do wear fitted things too. I like being warm too, but I always seem to cook wearing them idk why. So I tend to wear either a plain long sleeve T with a hoodie or button up cardigan that I can take off as needed. Of course the cardigans are kinda like sweaters, so Idk maybe I do like them and just don't know it? lol

Yeah, I guess different draping methods or ties would be good. I've seen some on pinterest, but whenever I try them I think it looks odd. I totally agree about wearing them with plain tops though -they kind of take a wild top over the edge, but ofc there's plain scarfs too...

Golly I'm sorry I'm in a rambling mood today!

Me too and they were HUGE this year :) Most of the berries were the size of my palm -of course I have tiny hands, but still! You guys must be a little behind us growing wise with the wonky weather too. Normally they're are ready mid. June instead.

I see, but either way that should be fun! I love looking at old houses, buildings, historic stuff -it's so cool. I always enjoyed dressing up in old fashioned clothes for wool spinning demos. :)

Yep, work is kinda stressful. Some days appointments are scheduled w/no catch up time or are double booked leaving all us support staff scrambling around to handle them since we also are shorthanded. One of my bosses is moody & hard to please, which is the main reason most people don't stick around and why I don't love my job. Plus we rarely get out on time when our shift ends -I was stuck there 7am-10pm yesterday & I was supposed to be done at 5. :P

That sounds really fun! I love having friends over :) One of my BFF's came over last night watched movies & then showed each other different music groups we like (She showed me Indo and I showed her Kpop). In the morning we picked HUGE strawberries at the berry farm! You must live pretty close to St. Louis right? Are you taking her to see the arch? We drove by it several times on the way to b-ball nationals, but we never had time to stop. :(

It is really hard to find a job you enjoy, pays well, & has a good work environment. I've got the first two down, but the third unfortunately nope.

Haha rooms get so much packed in don't they! I really wish I could figure out how to wear scarves -got any tips? I love empire waist tunic style tops & leggings. Otherwise I wear plain t's, jeans, or sweatpants which I <3. I don't really like sweaters -they're too bulky & make me too warm.

That's good they weren't life threatening, but I can imagine how awful they can be. Oooh I can't stand certain perfumes and air fresheners either -too strong and they make me sneeze. Shellfish allergies :P I can sympathise there -I had a reaction eating shrimp on a lunch date with my mom and now I have an Epi-Pen on me at all times. Good call on your mom's part about that, and I hope you don't have to use it!!

Nope, it's fine. Gluten just started to bug me a little over a month ago. I had pretty severe joint pain that didn't respond to NSAIDs and I could barely do simple day to day tasks. The blood tests my doctor ordered came back negative, so we decided to try going gf and see what happened. Thankfully it worked! :)

I would say so! Thankfully it's legal or we'd all be in trouble :D

Unfortunately allergies and sensitivities are part of life. So you're allergic to chocolate? My mom makes a lot of non chocolate stuff because although she's not allergic it gives her headaches. I certainly could give you the recipe, but I have to dig it up & I'll pm you when I find it. Gingersnaps are awesome stuff :)

That's great, so she's spending the weekend? Wow her job sounds really cool. A girl I used to work with wanted to do something like that.

Haha the battle of the ever messy room -mine is in quite the state of disrepair atm! That isn't much time to get everything done -make a list and check the things off one at a time. You like accessory scarves? I can never seem to get them to look right with my outfits yet so many of my friends can pull them off :P

We're all a bunch of book hoarders :P Or at least I am -I have three bookshelves full of books, not to mention the piles of textbooks in my reading corner. It is interesting and they sometimes have you do weird "tests" like switching horses, a flatwork pattern, or jumping a certain jump in a certain way -they like to switch it up.

It is tough, but no pain is wort it! I was bad over the weekend by eating some amazing homemade chips from pizza ranch, but they must use the same fryer as they do with their chicken for them and I was ouchy the past couple of days -definitely paid for it :P Yeah, I've both made and eaten some pretty darn good good gf and flourless cookies. We made chocolate chip, which were okay, but the gingersnaps were amazing :D

When's your friend coming up from NC this week? Is doing teaching too like you or something else?

Yep! You can find lots of good books at thrift stores....my bookshelves are evidence. XD

I see. Most of my family is a little nervous around them, but somehow it missed me lol. I agree they are beatiful animals. Equitation is essentially a class where the focus is primarily on rider position, but also how well they can work with their horse.

Yep, no gluten for me anymore -I'm still figuring out baking with the stuff since I just went gf a month ago (no more pain yay!). Haha, too true about the recipes. Stuff my mom makes always tastes good, but when I make it -not so much. Yeah, it depends on the cake for me too, but cookies I love to bits! My specialties would have to be regular chocolate cake or chocolate molten lava cakes -Yum!

We haven't had a ton of storms yet, but that's good about having a higher up house. The dead fish smell I'm sure is fabulous.

Oooh homemade bread was my favorite! I'll have to find a good gf recipe for it, because I have store bought gf bread, but it's kinda crumbly :P Pies I've never really tried making, but I give you props! Pie crust is a pain to work with. For some reason I have good luck with cakes or just have found good recipes for them. They can be kind of tricky though -angel food cake is yummy, but boy is it a lot of work!
Haha yeah, there's certainly less variables indoor than outdoor! Your backyard sounds a lot less favorable for it than mine, because at least mine's flat.
Okay that's cool! At least you have something sort of lined up.
Visits from friends are fun and watching sunsets is breathtaking!! You guys must have had a lot of rain...here it's moist, but not overly moist you know. I'm sure you'll have a great time with your other friend too -seeing peeps you haven't seen for a while rocks! :)

Oooh cool! You must be a lucky duck! It took me several months before I got anything :P You should try looking at a thrift store for Boy, I think you'd like it if you liked flying solo -it's a lot funnier. (I got my copy for a quarter at a local thrift chain).

I've liked horses for pretty much my whole life and have ridden for about 9 years. Hunter over fences and equitation are my mainstays, but I haven't shown in years. -lack of $'s and horse :P

Yeah, Tamagoyaki is hit or miss for me! Yesterday I made a perfect one and today it turned out more like scrambled eggs :P I gotcha...yeah cooking you just throw things together and guesstimate. I see so you mostly cooked "foreign" food over there vs. more stereotypical US stuff.

They use the metric system for cooking measurements over there right? If so I can totally imagine your confusion coming back to the good ol' US standard measurements. My specialty in cooking is desserts -brownies, cookies, cakes, sweet rolls no problem. Breads, main dishes, meat, and otherwise run away or take over.

Yep, unfortunately it is! I can't tan worth a darn and I turn into a salmon just like that :P I've never played indoor badminton, but I think I'd almost like it better than playing on pokey grass and hot sunny weather in the back yard -especially since we have almost no trees in our backyard to play under. I totally agree birdies hurt! I've gotten smashed before too -they're just so....benign looking I guess?

Have you found a place to teach yet? Or are you still looking? Anything else new?
