i never watch "patriotic" chinese stuff. i'm mostly into costume dramas or modern sweet romance. so i just gotta remember, it's only a few episodes.

i didn't think about that. i guess exposure is good for her.

i've only seen 2 episodes so far. first one was not bad. but i sorta spaced through the second one cuz it was hard to get through. thought i would save ep 3 for tomorrow when ep 4 comes out. and i highly doubt i'll continue watching the rest after lusi is done.

that's what i was hoping for too. but i kinda knew i wouldn't be into this drama by the looks of it. was just hoping to be surprised. 😅

yeah, i usually love zhao lusi shows. this is just really hard for me to enjoy so far. but it seems that from the comments below that she might just be in it for the first part? and since it just started and there's not much to binge, i think i can get through it... somehow.

is this about the beginnings of communism in china? people were happy about that?

wtf!?! how does the female lead not think she was wrong? she does not deserve to be with the male lead. so frustrating! they should have had her chase him to america and apologize. or have her court him for a change to prove her love.

and i honestly didn't give a crap about her ex chen xun and wen zixin. that whole storyline was a waste of time. that could have saved a few episodes from this drama making the ending FL's annoyance less frustrating. if that makes any sense. ok, i'll stop venting now.

@wahooiee ~ i wasn't particularly keen to the female lead in ancient love poetry at the beginning either. but i grew to like her. i think she's a good actress and played her role well.

i did not like the female lead in kunlun mountain from beginning to end. she annoyed me the whole way through. 😆 buuuuut, xu kai looks really good in kunlun mountain. (i think i like him in republican garb. he looked really good in arsenal military academy too. 😍 ) so you can always watch on for him. 😜

what was the purpose of the end where they showed the FL was found as a baby? does it matter whether her dad was biological or not?

on episode 28. not the best drama, but watching for xu kai. do not like the female lead at all. so annoying. not cute at all. definitely doesn't deserve to be with ML. 🙄 so hard to watch.

i still have a few episodes left to finish this series. and i know it's going to sound superficial, but the male lead is so ugly. why would the female lead even consider forgiving and being with a guy who did all those things to her? for a tv show, if the ML is good looking, one can kinda forgive these things. but seriously, i can't even pretend to understand. i started watching cuz i like victoria song and it was intriguing enough at the beginning to keep watching. but i'm struggling to finish it. choose the doctor! he's good looking, kind-hearted, and a doctor, hello! and did i mention the best looking of all the male characters? ok, i'm done ranting. don't come at me. 😛

i took it as, lei chun was reminiscing / reading old diary entries of the times she had with su meng zhen. then she committed suicide.

they're supposed to be distant relatives. like thrice removed or something.

also, yu yi's mom was saying they didn't really approve of it at first bcuz people might talk. it's icky but not unheard of. like in olden times of costumed dramas. and those were usually first cousins. even royalties like queen victoria and prince albert.
omg! i just looked it up and it's still totally legal to marry first cousins in like half the states!

i'm on episode 30, but i just want run yu to get everything he wants. why is xu feng always in the way? lol. i don't care if he's the ML. i'm gonna be disappointed in this drama, aren't i? lol
