Both can be true simultaneously: The FL worked out to get strong to play the part realistically AND that machinery…
lol you clearly haven't met the ladies that do crossfit, hyrox or other functional movement sports - they may be small but they can lift and carry insane weights.
š«£ one thing that makes this series so good is how much it leans into history ⦠but I really hope the show takes on a some big creative licensing ⦠the ending feels ominous ā¹ļø
I need to know about that eunuch. ā heās sooo sus, who exactly is his master? I want to think itās the emperor ( the previous crown prince) but sometimes his actions are direct contradiction to the emperorās directions - but the emperor never really punishes him⦠Iām confused - or is he another baddie like in s1?
Does anyone know when this show is expected to end? So I can plan the binge?
This is the show that got me started on the cdrama train 6 ish years ago - so Iāve very excited for season 2, but I know I cannot do the day to day viewing wait. But now, this wait is so hard as well! š«£
Iām on a full Wei Yu binge⦠3 shows in the row so far but I have to take a break midway through episode 1 of Rattan āher screams are so irritating, I want to throw things.
I Read The Discription Of This Drama, And It Was All Over The Place... LIKE WHAT??? This Was Like A Really Bad…
LOLOL - I once tried to correct a synopsis on this site for another show and got rejected because the mod said it didnāt match some site reference of bad translation⦠but they let this garbage on.
The book synopsis is pretty vague which they typically change it to be vague once the book has been signed for a movie etc. Basically that the heir of the mountain spirit meets a mysterious man and they embark on a quest to solve a thousand-year old mystery.
The Chinese synopsis for the movie expend a bit more ⦠Basically Meng Qianzi, heir to the Mountain Spirit Throne, is extraordinarily gifted. She is bound to the mountain and possesses power far beyond ordinary people. She once vowed never to marry ā until she unexpectedly meets the mysterious Jiang Lian. Together, they embark on a perilous treasure-hunting quest. Along the way, their fates become intertwined as the connection between the mountain spirits and humanity slowly unfolds.
Just finished! Fun nugget for those that finishedā¦
Shi Ze asked Heng Feng asked about his future plans, and they reminisced about this old promise of working together ⦠working together, no crime will be unsolvableā¦
Feels like a cute Easter egg for another mystery-solving drama these two actors have upcoming.
You were able to finish all 40 episodes in 24 hrs?
lol no it took me 3 days but the last 10ish episode I really felt the drag - I remember checking to see how much was left when it felt like I already had a sense of who the baddie was and why the pacing felt slow and it was around episode 30 and it was like oh god how are there still 10 episodes to go?
lol so Iām only asking for partial refund, the rest Iām willing to give up as part of the process š.
Translations are sometimes difficult. I also saw Halan city becoming Harland... ;)Perhaps it would have been better…
Donāt get me wrong I truly appreciate translators and the amazing work that they do.
Perhaps Iām in the camp of staying true to the text (or in context) but it seems unprofessional and overreaching for translators to take liberty on creative licensing when it comes to their translations. Unless they have the permission of the creators - mistranslation corrupts the intent and the work of the creators. Words have meaning and they are powerful especially when it comes to different languages. Thereās always been a frustration and misunderstanding between the meaning of certain Chinese words/phrases into English and vice versa because of bad translation, unnecessary and unwarranted translation adds to that misunderstanding.
I understand what you mean about the comparison to Satan, but thatās an inference and not necessarily the meaning by the filmmaker. Itās equally probable to make the assumption that Snow Angel is in reference to the fact that meth is also known as āiceā or ācrystalā and Snow Angel is an upgraded/better version of ice.
lol. Sorry this started as a gripe and obvs I canāt get over this gripe. For a bilingual, I get a bit annoyed by some of the intended and/or unintended bad translations thatās already out there - hence the gripe.
So 2 questions/thoughts... 1) Is Lele = Xiaohai? Am I misreading / mis-watching... that all the clues points to that? Esp how much the imaginary Lele that Zheng Bei had convo with by the garbage and the injured and half dead boy in the underpass? 2) Xiaohai's sister is def a baddie... but we're intro to her so early on (like by ep 15-ish we knows she's bad) is there a bigger baddie coming? Obvs her former husband/boyfriend is her daughter's father, and there's no mention that he's dead, might not be him but like is there someone else with a big tie to Huazhou?
Why everyone call FL Niao Niao? isn't she supposed to be Shao Shao / Shang Shang š¤£š¤£ now I also want call…
It's super common to have a pet name that doesn't have anything to do with their actual name - it might be something that they did once as a kid and stuck or just something random. I have one that the family (including extended) uses that it'll be hard press for some family members to actually remember my legal name š¤¦š»āāļø

I'm emotionally exhausted.
