high expectations compared to what it really is

I want to start this off by saying that i’ve watched the first season back in 2022 and it has been my favorite kdrama ever since. i’ve waited 3 years and my expectations were indeed high, maybe even too high.

Back to last year, i noticed that Suho’s name wasn’t in the list of the starring cast on this app. I honestly thought it was weird, and maybe he would eventually come back as a surprise or something.

After the series came out I watched it, excited for a possible comeback of his, and for them to reunite.
For the first 7 episodes I noticed how there were no signs of him.. Just in Sieun’s thoughts or when he visited the hospital.
Then, as I watched the 8th episode I started wondering where he was.
It’s very common for dramas and movies in general to make one of the most important characters come back in the last episode, so I understood it.
At minute 40ish I really started wondering where he was, and then, when Sieun received the phone call I knew it would be something regarding Suho.
I was so excited.. just for him to appear for a minute.. and for them to have a 3 sentences conversation.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that Sieun seemed content after a long time, and they met each other again, but I expected something more.. you know?
I feel like they could’ve gave him a bit more screen time than just a mere minute, after making us wait for 3 YEARS, which is crazy long for this.

Also, it doesn’t compare to the 1st season. It’s completely different.
I actually appreciate the new characters, which are nice, but I miss some of the old ones.
Also, Beomseok? The only time he had shown up was in the ring when Sieun was dreaming while in a deep sleep. I feel like it was too different from the previous season.

This being said, I’m not sure if the wait can be justified.. My expectations were too high, definitely.
I hoped for something better.
I’m great that at least we got Sieun, i guess.

The acting was great as usual, and i really liked the music.
