There was simply too much of it. Every human has a backstory but at a certain point not everyone’s backstory is sufficiently relevant to the main story that it warrants an entire episode of screen time…
Seems like I’m in the minority but this was just OK to me. some parts were great but it had MAJOR pacing issues. don’t watch if you’re not ok with constant back and forth, drawing out every moment, and cutting between flashbacks and present.
They teased certain things for literally the entire show only to give us crumbs, and the writers had a bad case of “every side character must be a fully fleshed person” gone too far. We had to sit through so much backstory for nearly every character and frankly most of it didn’t add much to the story!! It took away from valuable screen time that could’ve been used on things more relevant to the plot. So disappointing.
