Cctv audience are mostly middle aged to older generation that's why you won't see romance drama having good ratings on this channel , the audience base of this channel love conflicts ,spy war, republican drama (rating will rise immediately hahahaha) and veterans actors. As I am following the ratings in real time mother and daughter scenes along with family one's are having good ratings, we also got veteran actor yu hewei drama airing on same schedule so I hope ratings will stabilize

Ermm I feel this is the situation here in MDL not on douban lol because douban beside 1 or 2 rating which is mostly done by antis of leads I am not seeing complaints about mom or screen time, bf plot.

And I actually don't hate the mom 😆😆😆😆😆 she might be extreme and suffocating sometimes but she love mch. We will eventually she her mom change too so let's relax and enjoy the drama

Honestly if people are solely looking for romance then this drama is not for them , the synopsis is quite clear. The romance between fl and ml will probably start after 20 episodes ( i have read the repo in xhs) well for me I personally like the period/ tension before falling in love and don't really enjoy love at first sight 😅 and here in this case I hope that mch will not fall in love too early

Actually the actress portraying mch mom is using Shanghai dialect so does yz and other casts ( as story is based in Shanghai )and she is playing it really really well. As for her mom nature unfortunately such mom exists so they are basically showing the reality
