okay sooo, is what you define as Morally Good™ the same as literally everyone else’s? because who cares if…
my dude. yeah. if someone mentions morality without the context of questioning the broader terms, the traditional standard is utilitarianism—i.e. maximization of happiness/minimization of misery. no one said she had to a be "cinnamon roll uuwwuu" but by traditional measures of morality, no, she's not a Morally Good™ character. given week 2 i expect the storybook ~character growth~ but my point HERE is basically. ya. kinda fucked up that ppl are sayin "publicly outing a gay man who rightfully fears for his life and future was the only and best path for her to take !! ur doin amazing sweetie!!" like...... u can both say "this was a method that did put the assaulter behind bars and that is something good." & also "but it was also bad that she took it upon herself to reveal something of the victim's he did not want revealed and felt, at least as was suggested by the visual cues of the show, absolutely no remorse for it." like..... theres no cognitive dissonance there m8. (also i never said they couldnt ?? just said it annoyed me lmao)
Kinda annoyed at how many people are straight up defending Yi Deum for her shitty actions. Like, I love her as a character, and I think she's incredibly well written and acted, but just because I think she's a good character doesn't mean I have to think she's a good person ?? Like, nah, sis, some of the shit she pulled was real fucked up. You can like a character and still acknowledge that they're not morally Good stop defending the things she's done like she was in the right and it was the best course of action. Part of what makes her interesting is that she is morally subpar anyway ://
