Huh? The only Chinese dramas I've rated 9/10 are Pursuit of Jade, The Double, and Love Like the Galaxy. That's on par with the average rating for those excellent shows. I don't think you understand what you're throwing shade at.
The book was SO gripping. The FL is cunning and ruthless, the ML is almost villainous -- the ways they carry out their revenge and manipulations is so devious you will gasp. Even though I know a lot of the plot will be neutered for broadcast, I can't wait for this to finally air. Made it through about 5 episodes before giving up. Honestly, I'm shocked to see this fascistic fantasy has earned a 9/10 rating here.
EDIT: Since people clearly don't understand my objection to the show: it's a preachy enterprise that revels in abusing minors without due process. It addresses the current real frustration with the systemic issue of school discipline and lack of protections for teachers in South Korea. It's a topic I care deeply about, so I was looking forward to seeing what the drama has to say about it. However, instead of promoting justice, it portrays vengeance with sadistic glee. It imagines a ministry of education that gives its agents absolute, government-protected power, which they grossly abuse. In the real world, we call this fascism. Are the fight scenes cool? Does the OST slap? Heck yes! Which is the problem. Nothing makes this kind of punitive violence against minors okay, even if they are bullies. It's the adults who are the problem, with their inaction or abuse of power. The drama isn't serious about its subject, so why should I give it any credit? Its very premise is offensive to any sense of democracy.

Fictional criminals and villains have done literally nothing wrong, so I reserve my moral high horse for more pressing matters, like irl criminals and villains.

Please give it another chance! The drama is about people in a lowly state building each other up. It shows family and friends as a source of vulnerability but also strength. It's about how to lean on others to endure this harsh, unfair world, and how to find meaning and comfort when things seem meaningless and cruel. It's my all-time favorite drama and it doesn't get old no matter how many times I rewatch because it's so richly told. Please show My Mister a lot of love!
