1st time when supporting character stole a show

Daaaaaaaaaamn! I just finished and it was so good! I was anticipating this drama cuz of CZY as he stole my heart in Hidden Love and he didn't disappoint me - his role as Feng Suige is even better, he's smart, he's badass, but he actually cares so much! Utter perfection. As for FL, it's my 1st time seeing her but damn! She's one of the best female characters I've ever seen - she's brilliant, smart, strong-willed and on top of that really great warrior! Wish for more FL to be as capable as her - she's not your typical damsel in distress, she's a fighter! They are really fated for each other!

Enemy to lovers is my fav trope and it was really awesome to watch how they went from killing each other to be ready to fight for each other with their life. I love their bond growing little by little and when finally reaching it's peak it naver wavered, it was ironclad, no matter the circumstances. They weren't only lovers, they were also comrades, equal to each other in everything.

Besides main leads I want to say that other actors also did great job - but most memorable for me are two emperors.
Susha's emperor - I both despised him and pitied him, but I think his character was really interesting one, torn between his obsession of power and love for his family. He mistreated Feng Suige very much, pushing him to his limits again and again, but also beliving he's capable to overcome every trial. Awful parenting, but indeed quite useful way for shaping a strong ruler.
Jinxiu's emperor is my fav supporting character ever! How I love this crazy guy!!!!!! For me he's the real 2nd lead and I hope so much to see this actor as a main lead soon! Jinxiu's arc was actually the most suprising for me - as 1st I wished for all scenes to skip asap, but after the divorce - DAAAAAMN, I was waiting in anticipation for every moment of crazy couple - they were so perfect for each other and I wish for different end for them... Their last scene together made me cry so much - when he was too proud to beg for his life, but didn't hestitated even for a second to beg for hers... And when she finally realized that he actually loved her... And when he told her that her smile actually looks so awful... It broke my heart... Really... Their relationship was so toxic, but yet so amusing - near the end I cheered for them more than for main couple, hoping to see them starting own crazy family, but yeah... No happy end for them... :(

Anyway, JUST WATCH THIS DRAMA!

Perfect

Damn... I've just finished this drama and I already want to watch again and probably will cuz I don't think I'll find something better anytime soon.
Moonlight Mystique has me hooked from the 1st ep. I'm big fan of Bai Lu acting but it was the 1st time for me watching Ao Rui Peng and damn - he delivered and I can't wait to see his upcoming productions.
I'm not even sure where to start with this review cuz I loved everything - story, acting, music, costumes and scenography - all of it was top-notch and memorable.

Nevertheless, the most important thing about Moonlight Mystique is that it's the most wholesome wuxia drama I've seen. Ofc I haven't seen all of them, probably even missed some popular ones, but with other ones I've already watched I always struggled with one thing - their plot starts to drag on in 2nd half and leads encounters one conflict after another, drifting apart and being unable to properly communicate and choosing to suffer alone. BUT you won't find this here and is the thing I love the most about this drama.
Bai Shou and Fan Yue, even when starting as enemies, are pretty honest with each other - they don't avoid talking about their needs, feelings, fears and doubts. Their journey is far from easy one, but they always face every life-and-death situation together, never doubting themselves and their relationship. They both grow, not only as a couple, but also as individuals, bringing the best in each other.
Besides really healthy relationship between our leads I want to say that chemistry between them is mind-blowing - I swear, this drama has the most beautiful, passionate and heartbreaking kissing scene I've ever seen. I literally could see all their emotions and I think it's my favourite scene from whole drama and damn, Bai Shou really rocked in this, showing her inner strength despite all circumstances.

Other thing I love about this drama is that it shows that world it's not only black and white - the biggest sinner can found compassion and kindness in their heart, the good person can went astray and turn villain. Destiny isn't predetermined, we choose our path and who we want to become. In Moonlight Mystique we meet many morally grey characters and learn that not everything is as simple as it looks at the 1st glance.

I'm not good with writing long reviews and I can't exactly put my thoughts into words, but I would like to encourage everyone to give this drama a shot. It's really beautiful, touching and interesting from the beginning till the end - defo becoming my top one, so just watch it and I hope you will love it as I do!

It's not romance... It's BROMANCE!

I've just finished it and still have swollen eyes from crying but... I loved it.

I started watching this drama hoping for some another good romance with Neo Hou as a ML and I could say that this drama is everything besides that. So if you are reading this looking for some passionate love story - you won't find it.
BUT... If you like kind of found family vibes, excellent bromance, absurdly beautiful cast, awesome OST and you are angst enjoyer - you hit the bull's-eye!

At first I want to say that this drama is real eyecandy! I've watched so so many dramas already but it's 1st one where even side characters were so pretty! Sometimes it was really hard for me to focus on the plot as I got distracted by all those handsome actors so much. I can't even tell which character I loved the most but I'm really impressed with awesome acting of Neo Hou, Tian Jia Rui and Yan An. They portrayed their characters so damn well and their dynamics was sooooooooooooo good. But on the other hand - I feel like FL was totally outshined by male leads. Wen Xiao was a nice character but compared to the rest she seemed so plain. At some point I totally stopped caring about her and her 'romance' with ZYZ as I was so invested with our boys (ZYZ, ZYC and Li Liun) and their complicated relationships... ZYZ & ZYC and ZYZ & Li Liun chemistry was just off the chart (maybe I watched too many BLs but it felt as a love triangle between them in some parts, lol)!

Besides that I really liked the found family vibe - it was wholesome! Side characters also gave their best and their stories were really interesting and made me care for them (and weep for them...). This drama was a real rollercoaster of emotions for me - it made me laugh and cry so many times... Additionaly OST was a chef's kiss - so beautiful and well matched.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this one! Watch it, you won't regret this! But be aware - grab some tissues...

i'm obsessed

Finished this drama yesterday and I refuse to let it go, so I already started rewatching all Chi Cheng & Wu Suowei scenes...
This one defo became my new comfort drama - despite some flaws I'm so obsessed with it. It's funny cuz when I started a 1st ep a few days ago I wasn't expecting much, just wanted to find sth to fill my time. And now I have a withdrawal syndrome...

I want to say that thing which makes this drama so special is not the story itself, which has some flaws, but its characters - love them all so much.
This story starts with our straight guy deciding to get revenge on the guy who "stole" his gf and I laughed so much watching our silly friends duo (Wu Suowei & Xiaoshuai) scheming to lure Chi Cheng into trap, Suowei's staright guy panic moments were pure gold and Chi Cheng determination to get him laid... I think I was looking forward to it even more than Chi Cheng :D

Wu Suowei: I love how despite being staright at the beginning he was so determined to win over Chi Cheng. Watching him slowly lured by Chi Cheng charms was sweet. I like how he switched from avoiding physcial contact at all to proactively engagin it in the end. He's little silly but I like he's not typical soft & passive bottom, he's scheming, but at the same time also very sincere in his actions and also beign able to realize his previous misjudgments about Chi Cheng.

Chi Cheng: Ugh, idk even know how to describe my feelings towards this character - I'm such a sucker for bad boys who are ready to do everything for their loved ones. But at first I want to praise the actor! Tian really outdone this role - before watching this drama I didn't even know it's possible to deliver all these kinky scenes without making them cringe - but damn, I was so wrong! He not only managed to not making them feel cringe, but all of them were so damn hot, like I swear, mad respect. No need to say how much I had to fan myself during them...
At first Chi Cheng is driven by his lust, but due to Suowei actions we can see how he gets interested in him more and more, slowly falling in love with him and letting go of his past, to finally get so hooked by him that he literally worships him. I loved his character growth and how he portrayed all transitions in his feelings towards Suowei. I could feel all his lust, his pain and his deep love for Suowei.

Chi Cheng & Wu Suowei chemistry is off the charts, they both have their flaws, but both their relationship and character growth is really good and feeling very natural.

I also love 2nd leads couple! They are so sweet togather and also devoted friends to Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei. I enjoyed all scenes with them as well and I'm happy about how their arc was resolved.

What I loved:
- great chemistry
- damn hot scenes (praise Tian!)
- all comedy moments
- character & relationship growth
- friendship between all 4 of them

What I didn't like:
- miscommuniaction/misunderstaing in 2nd half trope dragged too long imo and could be easily resolved earlier (please, i beg u, communication is not rly that hard, wish for directors to stop overusing this trope so much... i rly hate it)
- when above was finally resolved we had another obstacle, which felt totally unnecessary for me
- cuz of both of things mentioned above I feel like we had less Chi Chen & Wu Suowei moments in 2nd half than in 1st one :(((

Generally, despite some flaws, I rly love this drama and would 1000000% recommend it! And please, please, dont let one scene in 1st ep ruin Chi Cheng character for you - I also hated this scene and don't think it was necessary at all and I know it may be big trigger for some, but I beg you, don't let it ruin whole character - cuz Chi Cheng is much more than that.

EDIT: GUYS SEND HELP, PLS. I've rewatched it 3 times already and I still can't let it go... Chi Cheng literally ruined me..............

Not bad but lacking

At first I want to mark that I jumped to this drama straight from "Hard to Find" to see more of Zhao Yi Qin cuz I rly liked his acting in mentioned production, but... I kinda feel disappointed. Main issue with this drama is that story is rather lacking in later half and mostly we just see daily life of our 2 couples, which wouldn't be so bad if a chemistry between main leads wasn't so average. Honestly, I think that in this part I was more invested in our 2nd leads story... Other thing I'm kind of annoyed is jump skip in the end. In one moment it seems that it will end in tragedy but just moment later, and without much explanation everything is good and male leads are back as nothing ever happened, like wtf? So...
It's rather avarage drama, something to watch between better productions but nothing really memorable.

The delusion that it would last forever...

I've just finished this drama and my eyes are still wet from crying... Lastly I had some drama burnout and couldn't find any drama to keep me invested and then I found this... I don't know what I expected but I defo wasn't ready for this. It's really beautiful drama, tragic but indeed beautiful. I liked kind of enemy to lovers trope and chemistry between leads was really on point with rollercoaster of emotions. Story had some minor issues but overall it was good. I'm really glad that it didn't have any overdragged plots and it was rather fast-paced. I like how this love triangle was resolved and how supportive second leads were. I hoped to the last moment that it would end differently but yeah... I was delusional. OST is really beautiful and touching, it suits story so well. Rewatch value is like zero for me cause damn, I don't want to cry again.

To summarize, if you are looking for beautiful, touching historical/fantasy drama with tragic ending - you MUST watch it.
But if you are looking for some lighthearted drama to cheer you up - DON'T, just keep scrolling, and don't jump into this sorrow pit.

It's just very bad recap

I didn't expect much from this movie as I've read all your reviews before watching it but it still left me totally disappointed...
My main issue with it is that I can't really grasp which audience directors had in mind - for fans like me it should contain more new scenes, not only some crumbs and I defo wouldn't recommend this for a new people as editing was such a mess and everything what I loved in the series wasn't here, it felt totally dry and hectic. It isn't even good as a short "recap" cuz all best scenes, all teasing and magic is gone. Soooo... If you want to watch new scenes just watch the beginning and ending and if you are interested in 2gether just go watch the series and don't waste your time for this.

so many kisses...!

I actually started to watch this drama only as a 'filler', but somehow it got me so hooked that I finished it whole in a few days... Is my 2nd time seeing Arthur Chen on screen - I had so many attempts on his "Lighter & Princess", but I struggled with it so much and dropped it in the end, so only this drama showed me his real potential!
Sima Jiao really is sth else, I loved him so much during immortal arc, he so badass there! Sadly, I felt that in later arcs his character lost some claws, but can't say I hated it, it was still enjoyable. FL on the other hand is nice character, I liked her, but it's not really strong heroine, just cute little slacker who most of the time spends waiting to be rescued by ML (even when she is suppose to be stronger in later arcs), but the thing I liked the most about her was her boldness towards Sima Jiao - seeing her making moves on him was a rly nice change compared to many other cdramas where FL usually are kinda shy and ML is the one to initiate everything.
I think chemistry between actor was very good and damn, all these kissing scenes! We were really fed there, I even blushed a little watching some of their intimate moments which it's not sth common for me, lol.
The story was best in immortal arc, and this one is actually my fav one, but later on it started to went downhill only to end with this really unticlimatic ending - i really hate it, it almost ruined my whole experiance, but regarding all great moments before I just pretend it ended differently...
Villains were rather weak, I felt that their screen time was overdragged and was fed up with them at some point.
Side characters were just there, nothing really memorable, I only cared about The Black Serpent, but his potential was rather wasted and his romance arc really lacking, nonetheless I hope to see this actor in some other drama.
Overall - story is medicore, but I really enjoyed the romance part and chemistry between main leads, so if you looking for some romance and dont mind some other flaws, go and watch it!

Not too left, not too right, not too perfect... still good match

I have really mixed feelings about this drama. It started really good and I was hooked from very beginning and I couldn't stop myself from watching next epiosodes and in the end I binge-watched this and "Still 2gether" and defo I don't regret this. This drama has many sweet and funny moments and even side-characters are rly nice, only thing lucking is intimacy. Before Tine and Wat started dating it was good but after that I kinda expected their relationship to be more intimate. And yep I know it was filmed during covid so its not even about some crazy kisses scenes (can't say it wouldn't be nice though) but it felt more like watching bromance in some parts. I rly understand that every couple is different and not everybody likes skinship (I'm this kind of person myslef) but still something was missing... At first I gave this series lower rating but after finishing "Still 2gether" I changed it as I realized how much this drama grew on me and how much I will miss my time with those characters. In the end I even started listning to Scrubb songs altough I dont unerstand the lyrics but now I can "feel it" and damn... Tine and Sarawat defo own them now :D So... Yes, this drama has some flaws but it's still rly good one so I can recommend it wholeheartedly. And for me... I just started rewatching :)
