Before I even finish reading your review let me say I totally agree with you. While I do not regret watching this…
I loved every moment until the last episode. The king fell in love with the Chef.
Ugh. I'm just waiting for the day that a popular Boys Love becomes mainstream in K-dramas. Then we don't have to have such a heteronormative ending that clearly does not make sense logistically! Not even plotwise!!!
The king was never in love with the original So Yong.
Agreed. Shinji's change was a little more believable, but he was still a little bit of a bully to Nagi. Gon-san,…
The male leads didn’t do it for me. I wish the drama spent more time with just Nagi hanging out with her new friends - like Urara-Chan and her mom. I wanted more girls night out with her sakmoto and tiara-chan’s Mom. The other cast were way more interesting than the dreadful male leads. More Midori-San even. That’s what fell flat for me. I am glad she did not end up with her shitty male leads but why was all the screen taste taken up by them???? I loved and hated parts of the drama.

Now I remember, from episode 1/2. Honestly, I hated Shinji in the beginning. Then it went from hate to mild dislike. I still don't really like Shinji. He isn't my favorite character. I remember, and when he "claimed" he loved her at the bar when he saw her real hair - the writing felt forced. It's like the mangaka has to suddenly redeem him, because he is one of the main male MCs. Gon-san is generally nicer as a friend to Nagi than Shinji is. Shinji I mean did help out Sakamoto. Otherwise Sakamoto's shitty employers could have beaten the shit out of Sakamoto and Nagi. Shinji became somewhat tolerable in the end. But I could see how "forced" the writing became, whenever it was written that he "loved" her.

I mean Shinji does love Nagi but that doesn't mean he isn't a jerk. He's still a jerk but a nicer jerk than before. She has long since moved on, so it doesn't matter whether or not he loves her. I think they could have been friends: him nagi and sakmoto but because this is a shoujo manga, that can't happen. I could see potential for them to be friends, definitely not lovers. I was rooting for them to finally split at the finale. No joke. Ending was anticlimactic and dragged for me, honestly, but her rejecting Shinji was the highlight of the finale hands down! Team Sakamoto!

Agreed. Absolute jerks, who frankly, if it weren't trying so hard to be a shoujo manga, can't take no for a no. Even name swapping aside, it was super cringey when Gon-san begged Nagi to move in with him. Like hey, remember when you were too busy hooking up with whatever girl who asked you???
Shinji, like Gon-san both took her affections for granted, I think. Shinji does care for Nagi and is at least loyal but Nagi has long gotten over Shinji.
I've seen a lot of those Male Leads(especially those who are rich aka CEOs or Presidents or Boss) who love to…
Like the way Urara-chan gets so mad at Shinji and beats him up! But Urara-chan has a point. He still "bullies" her and is quick to be almost too blunt with her in my opinion...
Normally I would be annoyed at this kind of ending, but with this plot I was actually glad it ended the way it…
Agreed. Shinji's change was a little more believable, but he was still a little bit of a bully to Nagi. Gon-san, I've met real life versions of him but only in a shoujo manga does he change like he does on the show. Real life Gon-sans stay the same.
I am disappointed with the ending. Wish they atleast showed us where she went after her friend Sakamoto rejected…
I'm a little disappointed. It didn't end on a bang like Four Weddings and a Funeral did. Sakamoto getting together with Shinji's brother came outta nowhere.
Nope! I'm also obsessed!!! Episode 8 was so good I can hardly wait for next week!
I know right. I'm watching this and Mindy Kaling's Four Weddings and Funeral on hulu. It's a total RomCom where the romance feels more believable. I like both. I am excited for episode 9. Even with the cliche mother...
You're going to be a little surprised with the change in characters. Like man Gon-san is sort of a dick/devoid of character/personality. His so-called feelings for Nagi seems like plot/drama convenience. Sorry but only in a shoujo manga/drama does the player develop feelings. Her ex is still better than Gon-san, sorry. Hoping Nagi would just stay solo, but that's obviously not gonna happen. =___= At least Shinji's stepping it up. I do like Shinji's dynamic with Nagi's new friends: he's hilarious and sorry actually has a personality. It's sort of a fun watch. Very good slice of life elements, but sucks that it falls for typical drama cliches: stupid love triangle and mother who wants daughter to marry. =________= Again, I don't recommend binging on this. I just semi binged to the last six episodes. Honestly, Nagi's fling with Gon-san killed the enjoyment out for me. Again, most entertaining manga adaptation this summer season (better than animes out right now.).

I like Rom-Coms. Buuuut I still don't really like Gon-san. Shinji is a little better.
=_= Really, I don't care for love triangles.

There are you tubers who are playing the piano form of the ost. There's a main theme that's literally 1-2 minutes.
