overall, the show escalated well but was disappointing in the last few episodes. there were unnecessary plots and rushed scenes. (not sure if it is because the original series was 40 episodes) the unnecessary plot was i would say the death of some people. since they died towards the end, it was kinda irrelevant and unnecessary. also i know that the original second male lead had scandals thus the screen time of the new male lead was decreased. however, i felt that the second leads had so little screen time that i forgot they were there and to me, better off just deleting the second leads. towards the end when there were scenes about them, i felt the urge to skip because i didnt like how they appeared for so long (LOL). ok thats just my opinion. however, this show despite the ending is a masterpiece. they phrased their lines really nicely and zhouye and CHENGLEI (ok u can see my obsession with him) did a fantastic job in delivering their parts. omg wait last one, i really hate chuzhao like from the beginning i hate him so badly to the core. the only thing that came out great from the last few eps was the hatred he yan had to chuzhao. if ure looking for undercover, war, confrontation, generals, court and most importantly ROMANCE, this show is definitely for u. if i were to watch it for the first time again i would but if i were to rewatch i would only watch some episodes. overall for prisoner of beauty, i really loved it. i was watching lotfg and this together and i felt this was much better. the fl was so smart, quick-witted, loyal to her husband and her people. she knows how to set boundaries and does not cross them. i love her character sm cus she is willing to do anyt for the husband. for the ml i felt like he was abit of a red flag because of his fierceness towards the fl in the first half of the drama and felt like whenever they fought he always raise his voice at her. however, he is super protective of his wife which makes it sm better. he is a little stupid in romance which made the show so funny. one of the characters deaths was unnecessary af and when one of the guys hand was chopped off. i went into the show js because of lyn and had zero expectations for it and i cant believe this is better than lotfg. if u are looking for a funny, political, family, war type of show, this show is it!! 100% recommend. finished this in 4 days lol Was this review helpful to you?
