Can someone who was able to read the whole novel tell me if it had a happy ending?

I agree. I got bored after 16 episodes and started reading the recaps. My heart aches for Rong Qi though. For me, it did lost the excitement after some 10+ episodes. I did like the second male lead's acting (I feel his pain) but the main FL's and ML's still lacking.

Edited to add that I should also acknowledge Leo Luo's acting. I like the way he tried to look proud while trying to hold back his tears.

I stopped at half of 47 and will not watch the rest. My heart couldn't take it.I knew the impending tragedy and while I watch them being happy together, in my mind I am screaming so stopped.

thanks for the insight. I did watch DYX in two different genres and I liked how he portrayed both, that's why I'm kinda cautious before watching another one. **fingers crossed**

I did not find it to be annoying. It's like his facade, but underneath he really did what he promised to her when they were young.

I did not know there was an age gap. Nevertheless, it was good. I had no expectation as I was still deciding on what to watch next. This is a gem. I hope there would be a season 2, hopefully he's 18 by then so nobody will comment on the age gap. I hope to see more of them.

You are more persistent than I am. I dropped it not even finishing the first episode. I started watching because of Yecheng and to answer the ladies below the title should be WILLFUL not Sassy Princess. This would have been more successful had they put Zhao Lusi, Hu Yixuan or Tian Xiwei, they to me are the definition of sassy. I dropped this drama because I really don't like how the the FL portrayed her role. Thanks for the review. To me, the dropped reviews for this drama were the most honest ones.
