Was pretty decent till ep 13- after that it went down the drain with the same old illogical tired tropes. Become really pointless- when will writers learn a better plot device than what's used here.

Also another show where for some reason the kiss scenes are shot and edited so weirdly despite the actors having such amazing chemistry. It's like they don't want to show you any of the kisses. What a waste!

The FL was a bit hard to like at first - she shifted from rational to emotional in a way that didn't flow and like it was forced into the script. Also I'm sorry but the basis of both situations didn't make sense. A lot of people deal with sick relatives- she's not the only one who has to and she should have learnt to balance it by now. And he runs a food app but has almost zero interest in food? That just made no sense to me.

3rd couple was also a pointless addition that just took up screen time. Cute as they were I honestly didn't care much for their scenes. I like the BFF and her husband the most out of this drama.

The last episode was also pretty lame - basically ffed through ep 13-16 and if you have watched any other romcom drama ever in the early 2000s than it's essentially the same thing dragged out for the last 3 eps. Seems like the writer hasn't updated their tropes since then.

Title Link: Eat, Love, Kill Spoiler
Was it obvious only to me that the dude was a serial killer wannabe and the sister was probably his first practice?…
To me the dad was killed because he came close to discovering who killed his daughter. The dad even says it "My efforts may finally be paying off".
As to why he stopped - the killer says "he was trying to be good"- maybe he felt guilt for what he did or maybe he came too close to being caught.
The fact (for me) is there doesn't need to be a motive for psychopaths like the killer was shown to be. They just want to hurt people- usually starting with the most vulnerable.

Thoughts on the killer :
Was it obvious only to me that the dude was a serial killer wannabe and the sister was probably his first practice? Then he killed her dad and then tried to control himself for the next several years. Until he met stalker dude and his thirst for killing was reignited. He even kept saying that "all that matters is how many people I have killed", He probably even moved to this neighbourhood after killing people in his hometown.

I still don't get the killer's motive. Why did he kidnap her? Why did he kill her? what was the motive?
He was a serial killer- the sister was probably his first "practice". There is no motive for them. He kept saying "all that matters is how many people I have killed". He had stopped killing in the meantime "trying to be good" but then he killed stalker guy and he wanted to kill more again.

i see a lot of people ask what the motive was but i think there's rarely a solid motive (or one a normal person…
Yeah, he was like a serial killer. There is no motive except for their sick pleasure.

Although the only person apart from the serial killer who deserved to keep suffering was the ahjussi who ABANDONED a little girl begging him for help and said "I didn't do anything wrong, why is she haunting me!".

One by one each town member made this tragedy worse and worse. I think the biggest flaw for this drama was ending on a happy note for all of them. Most of them deserved to suffer through life. ESP the stupid ahjussi who will remain in my top 10 list of most hated characters. The writer should have gone with the concept where they all were held more accountable.

Really enjoyed this. It gets heavier and a little slower in the last few eps but I still binged this within 2 days and that hasn't happened in a while. This drama really really dealt with what it's like to have different types of trauma - from stalkers to missing family members. It also shows how humans create their own little hells and stay stuck in it. I think the mistake people are making is going into the drama expecting it to be a massive thriller/whodunnit. But it's more about the emotions that come with experiencing horrible situations. Thus the title LINK.

The writer was able to blend a lot of different genres- crime/romance/comedy together so well. It didn't feel disorienting or the mess that was strong woman. For once in drama land a stalker and the trauma that comes with it was shown seriously and not as nonsensical plot device. I think a lot of props also go the cast. The stalker to the main leads and side (good) characters acted so well.

The leads had chemistry so the romance was great. Honestly Yeo Jin Goo delivers in every drama, from Del Luna to Beyond Evil to this. And Ga Young really acted her heart out in the first few stalker scenes. Her fear was palatable. I think this is the first time I'm seeing her take on such a serious role and she was great!

My favourite chemistry came from the grandma, mom and daughter however. Three different generations of actresses who were truly so great together. Their scenes alone are worth watching. I was either laughing or crying with them.

The last few eps are a bit slow/weak but overall this is a great drama. Great writing, amazing acting, good OST and cinematography. I highly recommend!

I am still stuck at episode 21 because I felt like meh it was going downhill. I will maybe finish it up but skip…
Agreed. I don't know why writers feel so pressured to change the entire tone of a drama in the second half despite getting a good response to what they were doing in the first half.

I wonder if ALL writers suffer from lost first-loves because childhood sweethearts is such a big trope. I have…
You have a brilliant memory!

i said something along the lines of your 'if the actress doesn't do intimate scenes, she shouldn't pick mature…
Honestly, nothing wrong with what you said. AND I do think it's completely ok if the actress doesn't want to do intimate scenes it is her right- but that casting doesn't fit this theme of drama. It's so mature and dark and it didn't make sense for the main leads to act like innocent preteens.

I think she should do more subtle romances or non-romance. dramas I found the same problem with this actress in Faith - where they portrayed only "intimate" scene was her giving CPR and that's not intimate at all! That's a medical emergency!

I think they're trying to do kind of what tvN did except without as many SK connections as CJ Group and without…
"expensive warehouse dramas, ie the leftover scripts with loads of shiny shiny looks and such but lacking in the components to make many of them have long-lasting legacies." - THIS SO MUCH.

They have high production value cause these platforms have $$ and expensive cast but they lack the soul of dramas that the likes of TVN have produced.

All these new platforms trying to quickly suck in the kdrama market are really missing the mark. There are some good Netflix ones but Disney + is really floundering all over the place.

That was a fiasco. And I can't believe they are going to handle season 2.

Did they completely forget the ML has a son in the last few eps? like he disappeared....what happened to to his company? and does his backstabbing friend just get away with everything with his scheming ex wife? like.....there were so many filler scenes - could have used up time to answer more interesting subplots.

Honestly as a revenge drama I found this lacking. As a romance drama (honestly what romance?) I found it lacking. As makjang also I found it lacking. It's not the lack of episodes that make this drama fall flat for me. It was the weak script and predictable actions of each character.

The FL is not strong at all and thus as the main character seeking out revenge she fails. She is the epitome of a character who is passive in every situation. She depends on the men around her to save her- so the revenge isn't even satisfying. Tbh she doesn't really do anything herself. She isn't doesn't have a ferocious bone in her body and the script made her come-backs so weak. In contrast the antagonist is what kept me watching. Girl was really relying on her body and brains for the most part. She was definitely rotten to the core but she had more of my respect than the FL. She was so vicious and dramatic it made the drama somewhat worth the 8 eps.

The romance.... man I don't know if they were maintaining covid restrictions filming this for the main couple but I haven't seen that much distance even in PG13 youth dramas. I read below in the comments the actress doesn't do intimate scenes- fair- but she shouldn't pick mature scripts then. It was like they were strangers...and then they were suddenly so in love that the ML can't be without her? How? When? Where?

All in all- you watch this to fill time but it's not as exciting as a revenge drama should be and basically every female except the FL sucks.
