Chicago Typewriter is one of the best Kdramas I have ever watched second only to Misaeng. Highly recommend it! I keep going back to MDL page on CT all these years later just to say how much I love it.

It has a grade of 8.6/10 so I don't know about what hate you are talking about. But we all have different opinons,…
Agreed. I get that people love a drama and want to defend it (I feel like that sometimes, but then remember not everyone HAS to love what I love lol). And yeap, like everyone else I love slice of life dramas and thought this was going to be great but was quite bored from this one, but you only get to know that after watching a drama!

One word: Bland. I usually am this biggest fan of character/dialogue driven dramas (eg Misaeng) that don't rely on heavy plot lines to drive the story but wow I could not get in to this drama. I did really like the script but the story failed to pull me in. There should be some spark, some purpose to a drama and this weirdly started with it and then quickly dissipated in to nothingness. After 11 eps I am dropping it. The leads have no chemistry together, and its not cause I'm even expecting any skinship, there just isn't any. They have a nice friendship and that's ok but nothing more. The ML seems to have no presence on screen (through no fault of his own, the drama takes anything that made him interesting and just makes him seem like an empty shell...which I get might be the point before building him up again but 11 episodes later there is nothing to pulling me to keep watching). The second leads were definitely far more interesting to watch and I really liked how weirdly psycho but caring Dan Ah was. Her character was what kept me watching for as long as I did tbh.

It's a shame cause I really really wanted to like this drama given all the praise in the reviews and comments below but this just was so bland for me.

(Don't come at me I know there are a lot of fans who love this show but it's not a personal attack on ya'll just my feelings).

Also the dubbing in a lot of scenes was horribly inserted. Seriously I hope they have a better production crew for the next season cause this team did one of the weakest jobs I have seen for such a highly rated drama.

Title Go Go Squid!
Very cute and sweet drama. The romance between the main leads was adorable and worth watching and none of the side characters/stories annoyed me like cdramas have a tendency to do. However like everyone else has mentioned this could easily have been a 25-30 episode drama instead and that would have really raised the ratings for me.

Although I really don't support the blind patriotic love they have for China (re: massive human rights abuses going on there atm) I appreciate that they as individuals wanted to represent their country. But they really tried to ram that idea down our throats via multiple flashbacks of the same scenes, shouting and overacting as substitute to show passion (I'm looking at you all the random yelling between Team Solo). This drama also really suffered from the repeated montages of the same thing and then suddenly not showing the real competitions that viewers would want to see (at least on the Netflix version we don't get to see some scenes that makes the editing seem realllyyyy weird). I couldn't help but feel that they couldn't schedule every cast member on the same day/time for shoots and so a lot of scenes seemed weirdly edited. E.g. DTs scenes were mostly inserts to make it seem he was in the team but all the shots were him alone. There were quite a few production flaws which is a shame because the actors did a pretty decent job most of the time.

I did love the friendship and solidarity between both Team Solo and K&K and really want to see the second season from DT's POV. Overall worth a watch for just the main leads, the romance was really all fluff and what I came for (and I love drunk Tong Nian!)

sidenote on something said in episode 13:Women do not sort out things based on emotions, we are logical as well.…
Yeah I hated that line of argument in this. Humans are one dimensional beings based on their gender. Men and Women both make decisions logically, emotionally and most of the time a mix of the two. For a drama that had a male lead as a statistician they should have been able to explain the nuance in this instead of the lazy writing they had for this.

An ok drama that was really hard to get in to. The first few episodes are really boring and you really have to force yourself to not roll your eyes at the female lead. She is really not the sharpest tool in the shed and although she matures slightly throughout the drama the character development isn't amazing. ML was good, he was able to portray warmth, coldness and confusion but this drama would have been so much better in half the episodes and less boring filler scenes.

I really do hate how one dimensional best friend characters are in dramaland, even though they had their own story line every time the FL had issues her friends would pop up and if they had issues she would be there for them for 3 whole secs and then its back to her issues. I get it she's the FL but the friendship was so unconvincing and a lot of dramas are plagued with these issues. Luckily the sister's story line was fun cause of the man pursuing her and they had good chemistry.

Side rant: It is NOT OK to push a restaurant/chef to cook off the menu, it's ok to ask but totally not appreciated if the guest throws a temper tantrum like the main couple did in one of the episodes. As someone who has worked in F&B for ages, this can disrupt the entire flow of the kitchen and also cause issues if other customers see and copy. Also if the chefs aren't sure of the dish and still made to make it- the customer always blames the restaurant so this scene reallllly annoyed me.

The one thing I have to give props to is the OST - it was solid.

On In House Marriage Honey Feb 2, 2021
This drama is the definition of cute overload with fluff thrown in by the buckets - and exactly what I wanted to see. The chemistry was really good between the actors although you kind of are taken by surprise by how quickly they like each other, but with only seven 24 min episodes it makes sense the story moves rapidly. Still as their marriage grows the audience is able to root for their love.

Highly recommend when you want a stress free drama.

Also good to see a jdrama with so many kiss scenes- it's almost unheard of! If anyone has any more recs for cute jdramas like these where they aren't afraid to kiss please let me know.

International companies entering the korean drama industry is weird to me... I moved away from American TV shows…
Same here- I got so sick of the never ending seasons with basically no story line. I really don't want asian dramas to go the same way. But if they do americanise it they will fail to capture audience because I'm sure most people shifted to asian dramas for these reasons.

Title Dear Herbal Lord Spoiler
Can someone give me a spoiler for this drama and tell me if there's someone against the romance of the main leads…
Not sure if you're still interested but the second lead (with good intentions) tries a bit but it isn't a massive heartache, and you kinda just feel bad for the guy. Also the main villain just wants the MLs dead. Recommend watching this cause it is super cute.

This is such a cute fluffy drama with a decent (but typical) storyline. The best thing about this drama is that IT DOES NOT DRAG. Which is always my issue with this genre of cdramas. They often drag plot lines and misunderstandings for like 10 episodes at a time. This drama is short so everything gets resolved quickly and they move on to the next sub plot, making it a quick and enjoyable watch. Of course it had some plot holes but nothing major and they mostly attempt to explain everything to the audience.

Stay for the fluff and the cute chemistry of the main leads.

yup, I feel this so strongly. I usually think overtime that there are some redeeming qualities in a drama but this has zero. It's just horribly executed and failed in every aspect except perhaps the romance and even that got gratin with how spoiled the FL was portrayed to be.

I will never understand the appeal of this drama. Sometimes the leads could be cute (the sole saving grace), but…
Yesssss! I did not like this drama and over the years when I see it come up as a popular drama I can't help but roll my eyes!

It's not that they tried to merge different genres that was the problem- it was that they couldn't. I think I skipped 70% of the drama towards the second half.

Also I really really hate it when abuse/rape is used as a superficial plot point that isn't even given real gravity in drama and that's exactly what this show did. And I hattteeed that about this show. barely a 2/10 for this show now.

This was so fun to watch, it had scenes that will have you wiping away tears and in the next few minutes actually laughing out loud. I think the most satisfying thing about this drama was that you actually saw the evil people get punched (usually in the face).

This is one of the few dramas that had such good pacing and I was never bored, I finished it 2.5 days and that has become unusual for me lately. It's a great drama to watch if you are in a slump and if you are tired of the same old romcoms/unnecessarily melo drama. I'm going to miss the Eonnie Gang.

It isn't perfect, there are some loopholes in the drama and the OST was pretty forgettable for me but the overall story and the camaraderie portrayed is what makes this drama amazing. I can't wait for season 2!

light fluff drama and that's all there is to it. Don't expect any substance and you may enjoy it.

It gets super draggy towards the end and I found the second leads story line to be really uninteresting (I skipped all of it). 6.5/10

If you are looking for a drama with strong female leads in a tough industry (tech) look no further! The drama is only one I have seen where no one is fighting over men but instead a power struggle between talented and capable women. I really loved that even the main villain was a woman and not a man. The writers also threw in some interesting points about how the internet works and how we shouldn't ever take the freedom of the net for granted. The female lead between each other had such good chemistry, you could really feel their frustrations/friendships with each interaction.

The chemistry between all the romantic (side) male leads was incredible, although like the rest of the viewers I started to lose interest in the main couple and was more into the cuteness of the second couple. Regardless everyone was amazing.

It was such a fresh take on the normal drama business tropes that I didn't I actually enjoyed the power struggles more than the romance (and being a romance junkie that's a big statement). I wouldn't mind a second season with different actors and the same writer (perhaps set in the different industry).

The few points I found lacking was - the OST wasn't as great as it could have been, the love line of the MLs dragged the drama down a bit and the ending felt rushed. Other than that definitely worth the watch!
