Ep9 had minor questionable parts but it didn't take me out of the episode too much like some other ones did. The amusement park was sweet (that zoom out shot of TS waiting in line with other kids was funny haha). The plan for Sun to be Eddie was...interesting....but it's great to see the two team up for now. For some reason, I'm still not hugely invested in SH's backstory (the past or future scenes). Today's part was really cool but again, like other SH flashbacks, it's too long for me. There are noticeable changes in this episode. The intro and outro changed a bit and it was very clear that the music direction changed as well (for the better!)
The problems with this drama aren't things that can be smoothed over with more information.1) The Control Bureau…
I agree with your last point in particular. We’re halfway in, and I’m not sure if the drama can fix its many problems. I only say that I’m hopeful about the 2nd half because I still don’t want to prejudge an airing drama. That’s why I prefer watching any show once it’s complete (Sisyphus being a rare exception).
And like you, I’m also watching it for the male lead and I still do. He's playing his part in the best way he can with all these flaws in the show.
I need to rewatch, but I remember vaguely it's that. I suspect Sigma stole the invention of TS and finish the…
Her being an unreliable narrator makes sense because she doesn't know that Sigma wants her (?) dead not TS. And also because I honestly don't fully understand her motives. I feel like they're unclear. She wants to prevent HS from inventing the uploader to prevent the war. And because she loves him (or will)? And she also wants to save her mother? Add to that that it wasn't made clear how much she remembers. She knows her mother's number but not a banana? I wish they would've cleared all of the above early on (the same goes for the multiple "bad guys". What do they know? Their real motives etc.) idk I just feel like something is missing with all of this. Let's see what the 2nd half of the show will clarify.
I'm giving a second chance to this drama, i wanted to drop after ep 3 but now I'm at 6 and liking story and characters.…
I don't want to judge a show that's still airing but it's already half way done and the bases of it have been largely established and should unlikely change (we'll see). I remember for the first few episodes, I was baffled by the directing and editing choices made for a drama of this size before I just accepted that this is how it's going to be. I will continue watching because I want to see where the story is going and how it's ending. I still have hope that it will get better by the end.

I didn't think about this possibility. Why would she lie? And if I remember correctly, she told him that he'll invent the uploader in 2021. So he knows the date.... I guess it's something we'll learn about later.
A question. I think in earlier episodes, SH said that TS will invent the uploader in 2021 which will start the war. Then in ep7-8, we discover that TS will die on the 31st of October 2020 on the day the war breaks?? I'm confused. Or maybe I misunderstood something.
Is is just me or did ep8 felt wasted? It's 70mins of mostly nothing. Many parts we knew already and they're shown again and other parts felt draggy without giving us a lot of new information.
Some random thoughts while watching ep7: - A flashback? again?? ughh - Where the heck is Bongseon? - I wonder how Sun's family agreed to travel so suddenly? - That magic laser pointed at the chairman was distracting because it shouldn't be from all directions, no?? - Excited for Kim Byung Chul's character. Looks like it'll be fun to watch! - The Asia Mart part was great. More of President Park please!
That's interesting. I was thinking in the last couple of episodes that it really needed to make better use of…
The parts you mentioned didn't particularly bother me but I see your point. In the end, it's all down to personal preferences. I do like that there was no music in the earpiece scene. It increases the tension needed there. But for ex, I didn't like it when there was a song playing when she slept on his shoulder. It's a bit nitpicky from my part so I'm willing to overlook it if the acting carries it well and the music is good which it was!

We'll see if this decision changes anything. Some parts in the drama were affected negatively by the music. At times, it overpowered the moment instead of complementing and enhancing it (this happens in many other dramas as well. It's not easy to pull off). I generally prefer quiet and emotional moments not having background music.
This might not be important but there were news that the music director will be changed from ep9 onwards (the new one worked on Chocolate and My Dangerous Wife). I found that decision interesting and wonder what prompt it and if it happens often in Kdrama productions.
IA btw! "I think the problem with the first 4 eps was that they introduced too many mysteries and questions and…
If it was shortened to 16 episodes, I see that as a hopeful sign that the story will be better paced now? We shall see. I prefer a time loop too. It would be so interesting if they show them going back to to parts from the earlier episodes because of the loop!
