I wanted to like this. It looks beautiful and the acting is great but I feel like this could've been a movie. I enjoy slow-paced media but this was boring idk
A really heartwarming show and an easy watch. Hana and Sosuke are so adorable together! The ending of ep3 made me tear up. Love how they tried to support each other to get better. And I loved that there was no unnecessary drama. I liked that it subverts expectations more than once. I was put off at first by the possibility of a love triangle, a tired trope that I don't enjoy. But Hiroshi stayed in the background and didn't fall for Hana. He had a separate storyline. Other examples are the senior chocolatier who seemed that she'll be difficult but turned out the opposite. Same goes for the father. I liked that a lot. (the ending cameos were strange though...)
I wanted to like this but it fell flat tbh. A fast-paced drama with nothing but twists doesn't equal a good story. It’s just the two leads trying to one up the other without us seeing the process just the result and everytime they find a way somehow and it takes all the tension from the plot and we’re left with just a series of plot twists with no depth or subtext. Most things are told straight to us with too much reliance on flashbacks to make us feel something (I didn't lol). Nothing matters anyone can do anything anytime. And the supporting characters are one-dimensional, uninteresting and add very little to the story.
Not a bad first episode but expected better. It’s a bit too self-serious. Too much weight is put on music and abstract dialogue to heighten the drama that the stakes so far don’t feel impactful but the leads are gripping enough (unlike the side characters who aren’t interesting at all) so I’ll keep watching and see where this goes.
Where have you been watching it? I can’t find it anywhere
I had it downloaded from the fansub website but I can't find it....it was a loong time ago but you can probably find it in d-addicts or other online drama sites
I'm halfway into this show and the characters and production quality is excellent but I feel like the pacing is a little too slow and a bit boring at times...
It's not perfect but I'm enjoying it so far. Also, I don't know how to explain it but for some reason, the story, the direction, dialogue and characterization makes this drama feel like a video game idk haha
Overall, the cast, production design and other technical aspects were impressive. And I was enjoying the first half of the drama. But then I lost interest very quickly. The second half was….bad. It got boring, repetitive and overdramatic.
The drama could do without the metal ball murders sub-plot tbh. It's boring and doesn't add anything other than extra runtime. It's more interesting to have Mr. Ji be an obsessive fan (I hope his backstory is good) and sabotaging/ruining things for people around Chi Yeol without involving a serial killer plot. Even that isn't needed imo. The two leads romance is a good enough drive for the drama. There is no need for a another genre to be added.
I liked this drama. The timing when I saw it helped. There are issues with Gu and his alcoholism. And the brother's story line was boring with some dragging overall. But even when nothing really major happened in the drama, the mood was still there for me. Especially with Mi Jung and her sister. Their thoughts and feeling towards life was too relatable, it felt like a gut punch at times. They don't have to change dramatically or find a solution to solve all their problems. Even their problems don't seem that evident or difficult. But that's how life is. Change is not linear. And living alone is hard enough sometimes. That's the part of the drama I liked most.
Spoilers for the end of ep9. Just a long rant~ I love the atmosphere of the drama. The whole idea of trying to find your purpose and appreciating the mundane things in life but as I watched, I didn't like the murder side-plot especially. And now it intensified at the end of ep9!! It really put me off watching the rest of the drama. Idk, it changes the peaceful tone of the story so dramatically and it's so unnecessary. I don't get it. I wished the drama was a simple slice-of-life that focused on Yeo Reum's journey without her being traumatized with everything that's happening since she moved to Angok!
