someone else worded it perfectly, “in dramas like this, it’s always easy to take the side of the handsome ml vs the fl and fls are often depicted as the “irrational” one”; but i think some people are seriously reaching and overly portraying ji xing as an illogical little girl in the business world and does not appreciate han ting’s love? 🤔 y’all need to sit down, just my two cents here:
let’s look back at han ting’s birthday when they were talking in the car, in this business world, ji xing is literally truly blindfolded. this is a shot at the stars, and she invested every single thing she has for xingchen. han ting invested in her, and soon she develops trust for han ting and falls in love with him. as she said (non-verbatim because i don’t remember anymore), she felt safe because han ting was with her, and to be honest, ji xing is still yet to have a lot. at this moment of her life, all she has is her family, friends, han ting, xingchen which han ting was the only investor, and everyday she’s thriving to grow xingchen. while han ting has all these business giants wrapped around his fingers.
ji xing has always viewed hanhai as xingchen’s biggest competitor. then she suddenly finds out that hanhai was invested by han ting (and from zeng di too and to people saying why did she trust zeng di’s words instead of han ting’s actions, when zeng di told her that, she literally told her so what, it’s his business, it’s not as if she threw han ting under the bus) and he wasn’t even the one to tell her.
then, she asks him about his perception of love and he gives her a very much calculated answer. it was a slap in the face: just like li li said, love is love, business is business. who is ji xing to know what runs in his mind? how would she know her place in his business and how it can affect their love? because in the world they’re in, it can very easily clash.
ji xing made it clear from the start that she didn’t want xingchen to be merged, and suddenly there’s a merging plan with hanhai, her biggest competitor. how do you expect her to feel? “why did you invest in xingchen? for you, xingchen is only a pawn” what ji xing felt is valid after finding that out.
i’m so sick of people labelling her as brain dead when she quite literally braved the business world with only her dreams on sight and this merging plan is way more than han ting’s love for her and whatever lovey dovey tings they’ve done because she also sacrificed almost, if not, everything for xingchen. of course, she will feel betrayed and she has every right to feel that way.
han ting is the hot ceo, that’s already given. but that doesn’t mean people should disregard how amazing and capable ji xing is for everything she managed to do, and she’s not irrational for feeling how she felt.
anyhow, both parties literally need a breather i guess. it is tough for both of them because at the end of the day, being in love and being in the same page of the business industry, it’s not hard for both worlds to mix and unfortunately, it’s not always going to be glitz and glamour. they were the cutest couple but this breakup will really make them grow both as boyfriends-girlfriends and as individuals of their own. i honestly can’t wait for the getting back together part 🙏 they’ll be stronger than ever and everyone’s happy lol
